Katherine Johnson - one of the most brilliant mind of the 20th century. Katherine was extremely smart as a young child, skipping a few grades and graduating college at an early age of 18. She was a human computer. After taking a break, in 1952 she worked at #NASA to measure and calculate the results of wind tunnels tests. By 1953, she had the opportunity to calculate the trajectory for #AlanShepard to be the first American in space. Johnson became most known for her calculations for #JohnGlenn orbit around the Earth. In 1986, Johnson's calculations were critical to the success of Apollo Moon landing program. She spent the rest of her career working on the Space Shuttle. For her work, Johnson was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2015 by #BarakObama. To visualize the impact she made, watch #HiddenFigures - Katherine was played by #TarajiPHenson.
