In rural and emergency settings, pregnant women often receive only the basic two-nutrient tablets, if they receive a nutritional supplement at all. To help close this gap, UNICEF delivers Multiple Micronutrient Supplements (MMS). Each tablet contains 15 essential nutrients, to support the healthy development of babies and prevent nutritional deficiencies. So far this year, UNICEF has delivered enough MMS to support over 8 million pregnant women.   UNICEF is grateful that MMS has been recognized by TIME Magazine as one of The Best Inventions of 2025! Congratulations to all partners for this valuable recognition of the work we have done together to tackle a major health inequity: United Nations University , Kirk Humanitarian , World Health Organization and partners in academia and the public sector. UNICEF maintains high quality standards with suppliers to make sure MMS products are robust and safe.
