At UNICEF , we never give up on children, which is why we continue to develop innovative solutions to reach every child. 💡 UNICEF has developed a new Mother-Infant Mid-Upper Arm Circumference (MUAC) tape that now allows for the screening of infants aged 6 weeks to 6 months. This is an addition to the existing MUAC tape used to screen children between 6 months and 5 years old. The Mother-Infant MUAC tape has been piloted in 14 countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. It allows for three critical checks: an infant’s nutritional status, an infant’s brain development, and a mother’s nutritional status - because the well-being of mothers and infants goes hand in hand. ✅ Watch the video to learn more about this new Mother-Infant MUAC tape 👇
