"For remote and hybrid teams, an organization’s chat channel is the lifeline for communication…but staying updated can be challenging amid the volume of messages. Enter Zulip: a structured team chat solution with thread-based organization, unlike popular apps like Slack that use channel-based systems. Alya Abbott, the Head of Product, told us how Zulip simplifies messaging for growing organizations by promoting seamless collaboration across projects and time zones — without unwanted fragmentation." Last week, Slack’s users realized that under the company’s terms of service, their private data could be used to train artificial-intelligence models. This came as a shock: chat messages convey sensitive company data, and LLMs are known to leak the data they are trained on. The risks of entrusting your business’s private communications to a cloud service are now greater than ever. You can minimize those risks by self-hosting the tools that process your most sensitive private data. Read our blog post to learn more: https://lnkd.in/gKdHXBkt

Today is my three-year anniversary as the product leader for Zulip, the organized team chat product. When I left my job as a data science manager at Lyft, the career change felt like an experiment. Now, I’ve been reflecting on why it’s hard to imagine working on anything else. Check out my post on the Zulip blog: https://lnkd.in/gV8f5w5v

We have two new case studies to share! Learn how Zulip makes communication easy for 1000 support agents at GUT contact: “The software must be as simple as possible. That’s why we love Zulip.” https://lnkd.in/gx9j-E-h And at InsurTech startup Semsee, Zulip organized team chat offers a better way to communicate: “I don’t like going back to Slack now. It’s just not as efficient a way to organize communication.” https://lnkd.in/g9ehS-rn

On Friday last week, we announced Zulip 8.0 and some big pricing changes for Zulip’s self-hosted customers. In response to feedback from our user community, today we are adding a new Basic plan for self-hosted Zulip installations. The Basic plan is priced at $3.50/user/month, and includes unlimited access to mobile push notifications. It does not include commercial support, which still requires purchasing a Business or Enterprise plan. Visit our blog post to learn why we are making this change: https://lnkd.in/dB-X9SqJ
