ZF Coimbatore Plant Sets a Global Benchmark in Sustainability Our IA Construction Equipment Plant in Coimbatore has been awarded the prestigious LEED Platinum certification, the highest level awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) under its LEED v4 BD+C: New Construction rating system. This recently inaugurated plant has achieved this milestone as the first ZF project worldwide to reach Platinum status and ranks among the largest industrial manufacturing projects in India to achieve this distinction. It reflects our commitment to environmental responsibility and future-focused design. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, a globally recognized green building certification system. This Platinum certification means the facility meets the most rigorous sustainability standards, from energy and water efficiency to waste reduction and indoor environmental quality. Our Construction Equipment plant delivers 48.3% energy savings compared to standard benchmarks, generates nearly half of its annual energy needs through on-site solar panels, reduces indoor water use by almost 57%, and captures 90% of rainwater runoff. These measures not only reduce environmental impact but also create a healthier, more efficient workplace. ZF to deliver azimuth thrusters for Fjellstrand AS’s new all-electric ferry The new vessel is purpose-built for the Breistein–Valestrand route and will be operated by GulenSkyss. It will feature ZF’s high-efficiency thruster technology to ensure precise maneuverability, low acoustic emissions, and optimized energy consumption.
