#ChallengeAccepted 🔹 Hospital Universitario de Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín, Gran Canaria Digital transformation is not only revolutionizing operating rooms and clinics, it is also making a strong impact in CSSDs. A clear example of this is our recent installation of the M-ATS self-driving shuttle at the Hospital Universitario de Gran Canaria Doctor Negrín, making it the first hospital in Spain to implement this cutting-edge solution. The M-ATS system automates the internal transport of materials across hospital departments - including the CSSD - with high levels of precision, hygiene, and efficiency. In such a critical area, where vast amounts of surgical instruments are processed daily, robotic systems like M-ATS are key to enhancing traceability, operational flow, and sterility assurance. Innovation goes beyond performance: M-ATS also helps to minimize repetitive strain injuries for staff and streamline internal logistics, allowing professionals to focus on more value-added tasks. One of the main challenges of this project was integrating M-ATS with pre-existing equipment - the PT1000 and DS1000 - which had been installed at different times. This required a software upgrade and hardware panel replacement on the DS1000 to ensure full synchronization with the robotic system. A technically demanding task, but one that was key to delivering a fully integrated and future-ready solution.
