🔋From powering your phone to keeping your tools running, batteries play an essential role in our daily lives. But every battery has a lifecycle, and how that cycle ends makes all the difference. When batteries are tossed into the trash or recycling bins, they can spark fires in homes, garbage trucks, and recycling facilities. These fires are dangerous, costly, and preventable. 👉 Find a battery drop-off location near you: https://lnkd.in/eGgRb_v4 #SkiptheBin #BatterySafety

Our work with National League of Cities helps communities get back to the basics of good recycling with these three steps: ✅ Recycle clean bottles, cans, paper and cardboard. ❌ Keep food and liquid out of your recycling. ❌ No loose plastic bags or bagged recycling. These three small steps can make a big impact. WM is proud to once again support the September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance with 9/11 Day and AmeriCorps. Yesterday morning, team members in Houston joined volunteers across the country to help combat food insecurity in the communities we serve. WM team members, alongside other volunteers, helped pack more than 200,000 meals in the morning alone, with a goal to get to 350,000 meals by the end of the day. This is service with purpose, and it’s a powerful reminder of what we can accomplish together. #WeAreWM #911Day #Service #CommunityImpact #Volunteerism
