Founded by public employees and dedicated to the common good. The credit union for Washington.

About us

WSECU was founded in 1957 as a small, community-driven credit union for Washington State employees. Today, WSECU membership is offered to all Washington residents. We have more than 300,000 members, 23 branches, and manage more than $5 billion in member assets. WSECU is committed to helping our members get to where they want to go, which is why we've created a comprehensive and convenient suite of financial services — and we've made them accessible from wherever our members happen to be. We're a not-for-profit cooperative credit union, and we belong to our members, which means that we listen to them — really listen to them. We believe in doing what's right by them every time, even when it's not necessarily what's easy for us. Our goal is to provide support to our community while looking to the future and building something of lasting value for our members. The innovative spirit that helped us get started more than 60 years ago is still alive and well. What's it like to work with us? Our employees say that working with us feels like being part of a close-knit community, united by shared values and a passion for exceptional member service. We look out for one another because we believe that when one of us succeeds, we all do. Sound like your kind of place? Let’s build something enduring together. WSECU is federally insured by the NCUA | Equal Housing Opportunity.

  • Beware of scammers impersonating government officials in an attempt to take advantage of individuals impacted by the government shutdown. If you get an unexpected message — whether by phone, email, text or social media — take a moment to pause and think before responding. Scammers often create a sense of pressure, urging quick action to “protect your benefits” or “secure your finances.” Your best defense is to slow down, stay calm and double-check the source. If something doesn’t feel right, it’s okay to hang up or ignore the message. Legitimate organizations won’t ask for personal or financial information out of the blue. Pause, verify and protect yourself. Learn more at this link: https://lnkd.in/gAsaRxcT

  • We had a power-packed time at the Heroes for Housing annual fundraising breakfast supporting our longtime partner, Homes First! Since 1990, Homes First has helped over 5,000 low and very low-income Thurston County, WA, community members find safe, clean, affordable and long-term rental housing with respect and dignity. This year is testing Homes First in ways they never saw coming. Community support is needed to help them address their urgent funding struggles. Thank you for making a difference!

  • Help us show the world why Washington is one of the most giving states in the nation during the First Week to Give! Last year, Washington public employees raised a whopping $4.5 million through the Combined Fund Drive supporting thousands of nonprofits across the state and beyond. As supporters, we encourage employees to give $5 or more to the charity of their choice through payroll deduction by Oct. 7 and get a $5 Starbucks gift card, on us! Let's come together to support our communities! ☕💚
