The Volkspartij voor Vrijheid en Democratie (People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy, VVD) is a political party founded on the liberal philosophy. Its aim is to further the free intellectual and social development of each individual, without making distinctions according to religious or ideological conviction, nationality, se*, race, colour of skin or language. The VVD is the largest political party in the Netherlands. At this moment, the VVD leads the opinion polls again, which bodes well for the forthcoming elections. The VVD is a purely political grouping, unlike the ‘confessional’ parties whose political objectives are founded on religious convictions. What is more, the VVD also stands apart from the other non-confessional parties because it emphasises the free intellectual and social development of the individual. In its philosophy, the government is regarded as the servant of society. The VVD believes that the government’s role is important, although not central, and it is not a goal in itself. In other words, the VVD wants everyone to have equal opportunities for development but, at the same time, it believes that those who earn more through hard work and those who develop their talents or take more responsibility upon themselves, should be better rewarded. The VVD is a people’s party, a party that wishes to serve the interests of the Dutch nation as a whole. It is not, nor does it want to be the political spokesman of a certain segment of the population or special-interest groups. The VVD can therefore be considered as a truly national party, a party for all. During the general election in 2010, the VVD became the largest political party in the Netherlands, It became apparent from the results that VVD supporters can be found in nearly every segment of the population.

NAC Breda B.V. en de Gemeente Breda hebben een belangrijke stap gezet aangaande de overdracht van het Rat Verlegh Stadion. Vandaag werd bekend dat beide partijen een intentieverklaring tekenen. Dat is een reuzenstap in de goede richting. Als De Bredase VVD zijn we hier trots op en zullen we het vervolg van harte ondersteunen in de gemeenteraad.

Als De Bredase VVD zijn wij trots op onze hulpverleners. Laten we zuinig zijn op deze helden die onze straten en pleinen veilig houden. Niet enkel bij de jaarwisseling, maar het gehele jaar. Begroting 2025 ✅ Gisterenavond is in de Gemeenteraad Breda de begroting voor 2025 aangenomen. Namens De Bredase VVD mocht ik het woord voeren en een toekomstperspectief voor onze mooie stad en dorpen schetsen. Want de Bredase VVD staat voor: ➡️ Een stad die grootstedelijk denkt én doet. Met alle projectontwikkelingen in het vooruitzicht, zoals ‘t Zoet en de Gasthuisvelden, gaan wij de piketpalen slaan voor unieke architectuur, hoogbouw, groene wijken en veel betaalbare koopwoningen. ➡️ Stad en dorpen die bereikbaar blijven. Met het ov, de fiets, te voet én met de auto. Waar we torenhoge files tegengaan, vol inzetten op verkeersveiligheid en de parkeertarieven laag houden. ➡️ Een gemeente waar we dorps- en wijkkarakters behouden en oog hebben voor de lokale ondernemers, vrijwilligers, sportverenigingen en evenementenorganisaties. ➡️ Veiligheid op straat, thuis en in de rest van de gemeente een van de topprioriteiten blijft. We hebben de ambitie om van Breda de veiligste stad van Nederland te maken. Mede hierom dienden we een motie in om een aanpak te ontwikkelen tegen nep-agenten en andere oplichters. ➡️ Een Breda waar we de lokale lasten van onze inwoners, in tegenstelling tot veel andere gemeentes, zo laag mogelijk houden.
