The right nutrition at the right time can make all the difference. When nutritional needs rise during pregnancy, even the healthiest diet may not supply everything mom and baby need. That's why Vitamin Angels works to improve maternal health and birth outcomes worldwide by expanding access to multiple micronutrient supplements (#MMS). Learn more: https://ow.ly/rKef50WYj5y

Public health nonprofit working to improve nutrition and health outcomes for underserved women and children worldwide.
About us
Founded in 1994, Vitamin Angels is a public health nonprofit working to improve nutrition and health outcomes in low-resource settings worldwide. We strengthen, extend, and amplify the impact of our partner organizations working to reach the most nutritionally vulnerable groups – pregnant women, infants, and children – who are underserved by existing systems. We do this by delivering evidence-based interventions and offering technical assistance, including ongoing monitoring and evaluation, to ensure program quality, scale, and impact. Vitamin Angels works with over 1,200 local organizations, including governments, to reach more than 72 million women and children in nearly 65 countries annually. Both Charity Navigator and GuideStar give Vitamin Angels their highest marks for financial transparency. To learn more, visit: www.vitaminangels.org.

🎉 Congratulations to our #Haiti team! We are proud to share that, earlier this year, Haiti's Ministry of Public Health and Population honored Vitamin Angels with the Serge Toureau Award for our team's tireless work to provide Vitamin A supplementation to young children across the country. - Strengthening Haiti’s fight against vitamin A deficiency. - Honored to support Haiti’s leadership in child nutrition. - Advancing evidence-based solutions to end vitamin A deficiency in Haiti. Earlier this year, on Haiti’s National Vitamin A Day, Vitamin Angels was honored to receive the Serge Toureau Award from the Ministry of Public Health and Population (MSPP). Vitamin A deficiency remains one of Haiti’s most urgent public health challenges, with lasting consequences for child survival and development. This recognition affirms the critical role of evidence-based nutrition interventions and strong government-partner collaboration in addressing micronutrient deficiencies. We thank MSPP for this acknowledgement and renew our commitment to advancing Haiti’s leadership in the fight against vitamin A deficiency, contributing to broader global efforts to improve child health and achieve nutrition equity. #MSPP, #Nutrition, #Malnutrition

Far too often, women do not receive the essential nutrients they need during pregnancy, leading to lasting impacts on health, development, and wellbeing. Vitamin Angels is committed to supporting the scale up of multiple micronutrient supplementation (#MMS), a proven nutrition solution that supports women’s health during pregnancy and improves birth outcomes. We’re thrilled to see the progress #Nepal is making in its efforts to consider scaling up MMS for pregnant women nationwide. With support from organizations like Eleanor Crook Foundation and Helen Keller Intl, Nepal’s Ministry of Health is conducting critical research on how to implement MMS effectively, including estimating costs and exploring how to ensure sustainable funding, how to make supply chains reliable, and how best to encourage women to accept and take MMS daily. One of our many highlights at #ICN2025 last week: Vitamin Angels was honored to take part in a vital discussion on scaling up antenatal multiple micronutrient supplementation (#MMS) to improve maternal and child health worldwide. During the scientific symposium, “Implementation Science Guiding Global Scale-Up of Antenatal Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation,” at IUNS-ICN 2025, the Vitamin Angels team, represented by Chief Scientific Officer Dr. Kristen M. Hurley and Senior Technical Advisors Clayton Ajello and Monica Fox, shared practical lessons from implementation research conducted in Africa and Southeast Asia. The session addressed critical questions: How can we ensure access to MMS for the pregnant women who need it? What are the most effective strategies for introducing, evaluating, supplying, and sustaining the scale-up of this proven intervention? We were proud to be part of this event, which was co-sponsored by the American Society for Nutrition, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and Kirk Humanitarian. Thank you to all the global health experts who joined us to advance the conversation on maternal nutrition. Together, we are making strides toward a world where every woman and child gets an equal chance at a healthy life. #EvidenceToAction #MaternalNutrition #ImplementationScience #GlobalHealth

We're proud to partner with the Government Of Makueni County to introduce Multiple Micronutrient Supplementation (MMS) and help support the health of pregnant women and babies in #Kenya. Earlier this month, Dr. Lucy Kanya, our Senior Regional Technical Director for Africa Programs, joined officials for the launch of the program. Together, we'll work to gather data and develop effective strategies to scale up #MMS across the county. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gDC936B3
