If Microsoft were a person, would you give them the keys to your house? Your car? Would you let them hold your wallet? Holding your own keys and credentials makes sense for availability, observability, and incident response. Hosting your own keys and credentials removes 3rd party risk by taking ownership of the most critical aspect of modern cybersecurity: identity assurance. Cybersecurity teams need a high degree of confidence that the personnel accessing sensitive digital assets aren't being impersonated by adversaries. Veridium offers a full featured modern identity assurance platform, fully deployable to your private infrastructure with any public IaaS or private cloud platform. Our solution, VeridiumID, offers full-service credential lifecycle management with secure enrollment, user self service and hardened help desk capabilities. We integrate with existing SSO, IDP, and other IAM solutions to provide universal centralized credentialing for multi-cloud, multi-IDP, and legacy solutions.

Cybersecurity experts have discovered ransomware hidden within two Visual Studio Code (VSCode) Marketplace extensions, raising concerns about Microsoft’s ability to detect malicious software in its platform. The compromised extensions, named “ahban.shiba” and “ahban.cychelloworld,” were downloaded by users before security researchers flagged them and they were subsequently removed. Despite Microsoft’s security measures, the extensions remained publicly accessible for a significant period, highlighting potential gaps in the company’s review process. The “ahban.cychelloworld” extension was first uploaded on October 27, 2024, followed by “ahban.shiba” on February 17, 2025. The VSCode Marketplace, designed to provide developers with additional tools for Microsoft’s popular coding platform, has come under scrutiny for failing to identify these threats. Researchers at ReversingLabs determined that both extensions included a PowerShell script that connected to a remote Amazon Web Services (AWS) server to download further malicious code. This secondary payload functioned as ransomware, though evidence suggests it was still in a testing phase. https://lnkd.in/gspBBpUB

The debate over Private, Public, and Community Clouds is intensifying, with a notable trend toward cloud repatriation, particularly in Europe. According to a surprising analysis by Cloudcomputing Insider, 83% of CIOs plan to shift from Public to Private Clouds. The two primary drivers of this shift are: - Cost Management – Anyone familiar with an AWS invoice knows how challenging it is to control expenses. - Data Privacy & Security – Ensuring compliance with regulations is a growing concern. For large enterprises moving to Public Clouds, conducting a Data Privacy Impact Analysis (DPIA) is a mandatory step under GDPR. Check out European hosters like IONOS, STACKIT,OVHcloud or plusserver. IT ist Infrastruktur.

D.h. es gibt wenig, was zurückzuholen wäre. #CloudReallabor #MultiCloud

  • 💡 #DigitaleSouveränität / #DigitalSovereignty isn’t just essential for Germany or Europe—it’s a global priority. Organizations everywhere should limit vendor lock-in, where possible, especially when it comes to critical processes like authentication.

❗❗ Erster Schritt? Vendor Lock-In Vermeiden! Schon mal von Veridium's Multi-Cloud SSO gehört? Damit bleibt Ihre Authentifizierung flexibel und sicher – egal, welche Cloud / Hybrid Strategie Sie fahren. 🔗 Hier mehr zum Thema: https://lnkd.in/d-CGRRCN
