Some interesting insights from Brooke Page-Thompson’s recent travels with some great clients💡
On my last leg of this whirlwind travel adventure- 9 planes in 9 days, over 20,000 miles flown, 2 countries, way too many cab rides with 90s boy bands and 80s pop, 3 hotels and 2 nights in my own bed somewhere in the middle there…yes I’m a little edgy today from not knowing what time zone I’m in…but reminded how grateful I am that I get to do some amazing things Velocity Advisory Group. 2 days of succession planning interviews and getting to know a client for the first time was truly and honor. Even more an honor to work with a family owned business in the beginning stages of trying to figure out how to effectively move into the next phase of growth and leadership. I’ve been dabbling in succession planning for years, but 2025 has been the year clients are asking for it more consistently. I’m learning so many new things about how this world of leadership is literally evolving overnight on every interaction…and the task at hand is old but new. 💡its not so much about knowledge transfer anymore- but having the skills to adapt to where we’re headed 👽 aliens and AI may be coming, but they haven’t yet infiltrated the c-suite in a way that dictates the conversation- it’s like a subtle undercurrent- we don’t know yet what we need to do to get ready for it or how to protect our data, so cautious optimism is front and center 🌎there is a lot to learn from the world and the leaders in place today…many executives I’ve talked to recently just want to be remembered and leveraged for what they do know… 📝leaders desperately want to upskill the incoming generation…and they want to see them succeed 🧠 there is a lot of brainpower being lost with politics, lack of leadership consensus and worry…and less brainpower being put to ideation and growth. Being the channel to gather information and then share the honest truth back can be hard as the consultant, but when leaders want to do better and think about things in a new way, they are so grateful for the support and guidance. I have more to share later…especially with succession planning. If you’re working on your plan or need to get it started drop me a DM. I’d love to help. Thanks Canada 🇨🇦 for a great trip!

This year, NAMI's theme for Mental Health Awareness Month is "In every story, there is strength." We all face challenges, and sharing our experiences, offering support, and listening with empathy are powerful ways to connect and uplift each other. Thinking about those moments when your friends or family need support: What words of encouragement, advice, or comfort do you typically share with them? What's one encouraging message that resonates with you? Let's share our go-to supportive phrases and strategies to help us all better support one another. #MyMentalHealth #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #MentalWellbeing

Taking care of our mental and emotional well-being looks different for everyone. There's no one-size-fits-all approach to self-care! Here are some of our favorites: - Get Moving: Whether it's a walk, a dance session, or stretching, physical activity can boost your mood and reduce stress. - Connect with Others: Spend quality time with loved ones, call a friend, or engage in a meaningful conversation. - Engage Your Senses: Listen to calming music, light a scented candle, enjoy a warm bath, or savor a delicious meal. - Creative Expression: Try journaling, drawing, playing an instrument, or any activity that allows you to express yourself. - Rest and Recharge: Ensure you're getting enough sleep and taking breaks throughout the day to avoid burnout. What would you add to the list? #mentalwellbeing #mentalhealthawarenessmonth

Mental Health Awareness Month reminds us that small habits can make a big difference. We asked our team: “What’s one small thing you do to boost your mood on a tough day?” Here’s what a few of them shared: "I take a walk with one of my friends who also works from home. A little sunshine, movement, and company always lifts my mood." - Jennifer Ganley "A quick walk outside or a fun update from my stay-at-home mom friend and her kids always brightens my day!" - Dymon Lewis "I set outside and listen to the fountain or watch the animals." - Michelle Goembel, MPM "I definitely get some outside time! I also indulge in little treats — a tough day calls for Starbucks or ice cream." - Ariel Wescott "I listen to music! Especially a good disco playlist. Also, just petting my cats is nice." - Amanda Nichols "Snacks, a walk, playing with the animals or turning on some music all help me." - Ryan Payne Even simple moments — fresh air, music, a snack, a shared laugh — can shift the tone of your day. What’s one small thing you do to boost your mood on a tough day? Share your ideas in the comments! #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #TeamWellbeing #CompanyCulture
