Young people are gaining practical and life skills, unlocking employment opportunities, and supporting their communities through the Youth Empowerment Project in South #Lebanon.   The project is funded by UNIFIL and implemented by UNESCO and UNICEF, in partnership with Anera. يكتسب الشباب والشابات في جنوب #لبنان مهارات حياتية وعملية تفتح أمامهم فرص عمل جديدة وتمكّنهم من دعم مجتمعاتهم، من خلال مشروع تمكين الشباب. يُنفَّذ هذا المشروع من قبل اليونسكو واليونيسف، بتمويل من اليونيفيل، وبالشراكة مع منظمة أنيرا.

Today we launched the Teaching and Learning Innovation Fund (TLIF)! In partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and with funding support from the European Union, this new initiative empowers public schools across Lebanon to design and lead their own innovative projects to improve teaching and learning. أطلقنا اليوم صندوق ابتكار التعليم والتعلّم! بالشراكة مع وزارة التربية والتعليم العالي، وبتمويل من الاتحاد الأوروبي، تُمكّن هذه المبادرة الجديدة المدارس الرسمية في جميع أنحاء لبنان من تصميم وقيادة مشاريعها المبتكرة لتحسين تجربة التعليم والتعلّم لدى الطلاب.

We celebrated International Literacy Day with LEGO at our Makani centres across #Lebanon, through fun activities with children, families, and facilitators that support wellbeing, teamwork, and creativity. Thanks to The LEGO Foundation, we are creating safe, inclusive spaces where children can build numeracy, reading, and communication skills, play, nurture their imagination, and heal. 💙 احتفلنا باليوم الدولي لمحو الأميّة مع مؤسسة ليغو في مراكز "مكانِي" في مختلف أنحاء #لبنان، من خلال أنشطة ممتعة جمعت الأطفال والأهالي والميسّرين، لتعزيز الرفاه، والعمل الجماعي، والإبداع. بفضل دعم مؤسسة ليغو، نوفر مساحات آمنة وشاملة تتيح للأطفال تعلّم مهارات القراءة والحساب والتواصل، وتنمية خيالهم من خلال اللعب والتعبير والإبداع والتعافي. 💙

🛏️ Youth are stepping up to support vulnerable families affected by the war. Through UNICEF’s Learning to Earning programme, 243 young women and men produced 533 mattresses, beds, and furniture – gaining practical and life skills, earning an income, and contributing to the relief of their communities.    This initiative is made possible by the generous support of the German Government through KfW Development Bank, driving positive change for both the community and the youth involved. 🛏️تطوّع 243 شاباً وشابة في دعم العائلات المتضررة من الحرب عبر إنتاج 533 مرتبة وسرير وقطع أثاث، وذلك من خلال برنامج "التعلّم من أجل الكسب" التابع لليونيسف. بهذه التجربة، طوّروا مهارات عملية وحياتية، وكسبوا دخلاً، وساهموا في تقديم المساعدة لمجتمعاتهم.    يتم تحقيق هذه المبادرة بفضل دعم من الحكومة الألمانية من خلال بنك التنمية KfW، مما يساهم في إحداث تغيير إيجابي في المجتمع ولدى الشباب والشابات المشاركين.

In partnership with the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Directorate, we’re equipping teachers across #Lebanon with AI and digital skills through training under the #TVET Multiple Flexible Pathway programme, making learning more engaging and supportive for all students.
