Thousands of children in Haiti today wake up uncertain whether they will be able to go to school safely, find food, even survive the day without being hit by a stray bullet or get caught in the crossfire of armed groups. The situation is so delicate that more than 3.3 million children now need humanitarian assistance. I was in Haiti this week and saw the impact of this child rights crisis. And yet, Haitians refuse to give up, with examples of hope and resilience. Teachers continue to hold classes in makeshift shelters, and parents pool resources to keep children fed. Young people are mobilising through platforms like U-Report to help identify cases of malnutrition and connect families to basic social services. This is one of the most complex humanitarian crises in the world, but it is not hopeless. With urgent action, Haiti’s children can be protected and helped to grow, learn, heal, and thrive. The world cannot fail the children in Haiti. UNICEF - UNICEF América Latina y el Caribe - UNICEF Haiti

In Port-au-Prince, Haiti, I visited the Mormon site for internally displaced persons where thousands of families are forced to live due to the extreme violence that is ravaging the country. Conditions here are challenging, especially for children. They lack access to basic services and face insecurity every day, affecting them physically and psychologically. Every child in #Haiti needs us to continue working tirelessly to restore peace and create the opportunity for a better future. We cannot fail them. • Yesterday, October 3rd, marked the end of the catch-up vaccination campaign in Artibonite ! 💉 Despite insecurity and the rainy season, MSPP –DSA teams, with UNICEF’s support, reached children even in the most remote areas. Thanks to the support of Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and the Government of Japan, more than 3,000 children were protected against preventable diseases.  At the same time, over 1,700 pregnant women received the dT2+ vaccine.  Every dose counts for every child and every mother.  #ForEveryChild 💙
