#ForEveryChild, every right. Our World Children’s Day exhibition brings this to life through portraits of children whose lives have been impacted by UNICEF and our partners. In a year of conflict, displacement and deepening inequality, every portrait and every story is a testament to the resilience of children around the world - and a call to action for everyone to protect children’s rights and help shape a more equitable future. 📍 Visit the exhibition in Quai Wilson in Geneva 🤳 Explore it online: https://lnkd.in/dxBRQVTs

Reflecting on the learning from the core course on disability-inclusive social protection, I’m reminded how central these efforts are to the goals of the upcoming World Summit for Social Development #WSSD— to alleviate poverty, reduce inequality, and promote social inclusion. Expanding and strengthening social protection for children with disabilities is essential if we are to ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive, and to reduce the high rates of poverty still faced by families raising children with disabilities.
🌍 As development partners gather in Doha this week for the Second World Summit on Social Development #SocialSummit2025, the global spotlight turns to advancing social inclusion and resilience. Listen to Pamela Dale, Regional Advisor, Social Policy and Economic Analysis for UNICEF Europe & Central Asia, on why social protection systems must be designed for every child — renewing the #2030Agenda’s core promise to leave no one behind. At our recent Vienna Development Knowledge Center event, we explored how disability-inclusive social protection and integrated long-term care systems are essential to achieving these shared goals. As discussions in Doha unfold, these priorities remind us that social development is not just about economic growth — it’s about dignity, equity, and shared responsibility. #WSSD #WSSD2 #SocialDevelopment #SocialJustice #DisabilityInclusion #SocialProtection #LongTermCare #DohaSummit #LeaveNoOneBehind #InclusiveGrowth #EuropeCentralAsia #HumanCapital #ViennaDevelopment #KnowledgeToAction #VDKC #TheWorldBank #UNICEF | United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs | Pamela Dale | Gopal Mitra | Jenn Yablonski | Emcet O. Adopted! With the approval of Member States, the second European Programme of Work - #EPW2 – is now official. Developed through a year-long process of co-creation with countries and partners, EPW2 is both a vision and a roadmap - designed to keep WHO Regional Office for Europe focused, accountable, and ready for the future. It sets out 5️⃣ priorities: ▶️ strengthening health security ▶️ preventing and controlling noncommunicable diseases ▶️ supporting healthy ageing ▶️ tackling the climate–health crisis ▶️ shaping the health systems of the future And 2️⃣ special initiatives that cut across all priorities: ▶️ primary health care, and ▶️ response to violence against women and girls My deepest thanks to our 53 Member States, focal points, and partners for shaping and adopting this historic framework. With the renewed mandate, we will ensure that WHO/Europe remains your partner of choice - trusted, focused, responsive, and results-driven. Every child deserves a healthy start for a healthy life. Today at #RC75CPH, we took a major step toward that goal as Member States adopted the five-year regional Strategy for Child and Adolescent Health and Well-being. The strategy responds to worrying trends in our Region: rising neonatal mortality in some countries, increasing mental health challenges, and growing childhood obesity. It calls for coordinated, equity-driven action across sectors to reverse these trends. Grateful to UNICEF Europe & Central Asia and Regional Director Regina De Dominicis for close collaboration in developing this joint strategy. We signed today a Memorandum of Understanding cementing our partnership and setting the next steps as we move toward the implementation phase of the strategy. Working together with Member States and partners, including UNFPA in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, we can secure a healthier future for every child and adolescent. #HealthForAll

Violence against children is never reasonable - yet in England, if an adult hits a child, they can claim the defence of “reasonable” punishment. We know that children aged 3 and 4 are the most likely to be physically punished - at an age when they most need safety, care, and understanding. Our Child Protection Senior Regional Advisor, Aaron Greenberg, explains in LBC News, why a proposed bill to ban corporal punishment in England is a vital opportunity step to protect every child’s right to safety: https://lnkd.in/eJ-bPYQd
