🇬🇭 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗚𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗮 It was inspiring to witness partnership in action as UNICEF Ghana and UNFPA in Ghana hosted Ms. Salla Tuominen, International President of Zonta International, and her team at UNICEF House ahead of the 27th Zonta International District 18 Conference last week. Held at the Accra International Conference Centre, the opening ceremony brought together delegates from 12 African countries to advance equality and empower women and girls across the continent. The Vice President of Ghana H.E Jane Naana Opoku-Agyimang served as Guest of Honour, and UNICEF Ghana Representative Osama Makkawi Khogali delivered remarks on behalf of UNICEF and UNFPA.    🎒 Later in the day, the Zonta team visited the Independence Avenue Cluster of Schools in the Greater Accra Region to observe interventions supported by the UNFPA-UNICEF Global Programme to End Child Marriage. Highlights included:   • A dynamic dialogue with 50 children, facilitated by Community Development Officers using the Child Protection Facilitation Toolkit.   • A focus group discussion with young women, particularly Kayayei, who have been supported to continue their education and gain skills for employability. 💬 These moments reflect the power of collaboration and community-led solutions in protecting and empowering adolescent girls.
