  • RISE TO THE CHALLENGE! ARMY JAGC 250TH BDAY PHYSICAL CHALLENGE! We have an exciting summer ahead of us. On 14 June 2025 our Army will be celebrating our 250th birthday! Your units and installations might already be hosting physical challenges for the Army birthday, or you can come up with your own. Share your accomplishments with us! But the fun continues, with our own JAG Corps birthday on 29 July 2025! We challenge you all to come up with your own creative physical challenges incorporating 250, our JAG Corps history, and your indomitable spirits.  Need to knock out a challenge on your own? Send us a photo of your 2.5 mile run, your workout circuit building towards 250 reps, or your 25 km bike ride! Or hold down your jiu jitsu opponent for 25 seconds! Want to complete the challenge with your unit? 25 mile relay races or 25 mile ruck marches (a team can divvy up the mileage) with 25 lbs. weighted rucks are just a few ideas to get you started. Looking for a long-term challenge? Work towards a 250 mile hike/bike/run/walk goal and send us your victory photo at completion! Thinking of a family or community event? Grab the kiddos and doggos and complete a 2.5 mile ruck/walk with JAGC history trivia stations along the way. Or get your creativity and JAGC history knowledge fired up and organize a JAGC 250 Birthday scavenger hunt with physical challenge “clues”! Are you near a historical site with ties to Army or JAGC history? Find a way to incorporate it into your challenge. If you just happen to have a horse and live in Massachusetts, get your Paul Revere costume on! Midnight rides still count as physical challenges.  And of course you can enhance your event with the JAGC 250 BDay Logo, available to download on JAGCNET. Please read the usage guidance for the logo! Please send descriptions and photos of your challenges to usarmy.pentagon.hqda-otjag.mbx.jagcorps-info@army.mil. Complete your event between now and 1 August 2025 (and remember to come up with a plan to hydrate and beat the heat!). #250YearsStrong #JAGC250

As I step into my second year at Elon Law, I’m incredibly grateful for the journey so far and excited for what lies ahead. Over the past year, I've been fortunate to reach several milestones that have shaped both my legal education and military career: 1) Completed my 1L year at Elon University School of Law, laying the foundation for a career in military justice and public service. 2) Spent the summer interning with the U.S. Army JAG Corps at the Army Court of Criminal Appeals, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in appellate military law. 3) Promoted to Staff Sergeant in the United States Army Reserve, a reminder of the responsibility and privilege that come with leadership in uniform. Here’s to a new year of learning, growing, and continuing the mission!

As I embark on my final year of law school, I take a moment to reminisce about my enriching summer spent with the U.S. Army JAG Corps at the 82d Airborne Division. Witnessing the unwavering dedication with which these men and women serve is an undeniably unique privilege. I am grateful for the invaluable opportunities and connections provided to me by the 82d OSJA as well as the other tenant units of Ft. Bragg. Here's to continued growth and learning. All the way.

This summer I had the incredible opportunity of interning with the U.S. Army JAG Corps in Fort Stewart, Georgia. This was truly an amazing experience, and I am so grateful for everything I learned and for everyone I met along the way. From observing courts-martial to assisting with case prep, I gained a deeper understanding and respect for the military justice system. I am forever thankful to all of the amazing attorneys at TDS and OSJA that went out of their way to mentor me and share their knowledge of military law. It was inspiring to see how much of a role military defense counsel play in protecting Soldiers’ rights. Thank you to everyone who welcomed me, challenged me, and gave me more acronyms than I’ll ever remember!

This summer, I had the incredible opportunity to intern with the U.S. Army JAG Corps at Fort Irwin, California. During my time there, I gained firsthand experience in military law, supported JAG officers and paralegals in a variety of cases, and saw the unique ways legal professionals contribute to the Army’s mission. I am grateful to the officers and mentors who took the time to share their knowledge and provide guidance throughout this internship. This experience not only deepened my understanding of law in a military context but also strengthened my passion for serving others through the legal profession. Looking forward to carrying these lessons forward as I start applying to law schools and prepare to commission as an officer in the Army this spring!
