🦅✈️This Wednesday TSA’s Honor Guard was proud to assist with Honor Flights at Midway Airport (MDW). Our officers were grateful to come out flight after flight to welcome America’s veterans as they traveled to Washington, D.C. to visit the memorials built in their honor. We thank these heroes for their service and sacrifice, and we’re honored to support them on these special journeys. ❤️🤍💙

🚨 TSA Officers in Hawaii Stop Fentanyl, Other Drugs, Hidden Inside Traveler’s Carry-On 🚨 Last week, our officers at Ellison Onizuka International Airport (KOA) in Hawaii discovered more than just dirty laundry inside this passenger’s carry-on, but a whole array of illegal drugs… all stuffed inside a couple of pairs of shoes. In total, the team intercepted: • 108.1 grams of heroin • 500 fentanyl pills • 3.2 grams of ketamine • 244.6 grams of meth • 7.7 grams of brown sugar heroin • 12 acid tabs • 25 Xanax bars • 10 soma pills Truly incredible job by our team at KOA for discovering these illegal substances. As a reminder, if our officers find any drugs inside either carry-on or checked bags, law enforcement will be called in to properly handle the substances as well as issue any subsequent fines or arrest. We’re thankful for the collaboration between our Hawaii team and local law enforcement on this incident. This drug smuggling plan? One can say it was toe-tally defeated. 👟 Keeping America safe, that’s our mission. And we’re proud to uphold that mission each and every day. #AirportSecurity #TeamTSA

🚨 TSA Intercepts Fraudulent Passport Cards at EWR 🚨 Incredible job by TSA officers at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) who spotted 34 fraudulent passport cards inside a passenger’s carry-on bag last week. Each passport card (some are pictured below) contained one of the same two photos, but each passport card had different information such as name, address, date of birth. Talk about an identity crisis! From John, to Jacob, to Jinglheimer and Schmidt, it looked like this traveler was trying to book a fakecation under multiple aliases. Thing is, you can’t passport your way past security as the consequences aren’t make-believe. Really though, this is an example of why REAL ID requirements are in place… to better secure and streamline the issuance of IDs. Reducing identity fraud, increasing security standards – really good things to put in place when it comes to air travel, access to federal buildings, etc. Here’s a reminder: Passports and passport cards are absolutely an acceptable form of ID, and meet REAL ID requirements. You’ll just want to get yours from our friends at the U.S. Department of State, and not from some guy stashing dozens of them in his backpack. TSA Joins National Night Out Event at LAX.🔹 National Night Out is an annual nationwide event that promotes police-community partnerships and community camaraderie. Last week, our TSA workforce from Los Angeles joined fellow federal partners for a special National Night Out event hosted by Los Angeles World Airports at LAX Airport. Participating alongside federal and local law enforcement agencies and airport stakeholders, the event strengthened connections, allowed space for us to share TSA resources and travel reminders, connect with the community we serve, and showcase our collective commitment to keeping our country safe and secure. Our LA team demonstrated the dedication and professionalism TSA aims to bring to each and every mission.
