NWIRC – SWIFT Ribbon Cutting | Innovation for Tomorrow Innovation is the cornerstone of healthy, resilient communities where entrepreneurs are empowered to explore creativity, take initiative, and grow ideas into successful businesses that strengthen the economic diversity of our region. The NW Innovation Resource Center (NWIRC) hosted a Community First Look and Ribbon Cutting event for the IRC Lab - SWIFT at the Sedro-Woolley Innovation for Tomorrow Center. The event brought together community leaders, industry partners, entrepreneurs, and innovators to celebrate this milestone in creating spaces that drive progress, collaboration, and connection. The renovated facility includes four primary areas designed for small businesses and startups, with private offices, open coworking spaces, multipurpose rooms for training and presentations, and prototyping shops equipped with advanced technology. The lab brings together the tools, expertise, and resources entrepreneurs need to take ideas from concept to reality, supporting innovation across sectors such as Clean Tech, Agricultural Tech, and Blue Tech. Northwest Washington thrives when we work to build the innovation capacity of our region. The innovators, entrepreneurs, and creators who will use this facility represent the spirit of possibility that drives long-term economic development and community vitality. Special thanks to the Port of Skagit, state and local representatives, Red Oak Architecture and our exceptional trade partners for helping bring this vision to life. We are proud to help build spaces where innovation takes root, positively impacting communities, advancing individual aspirations, and strengthening the businesses that drive our region forward. #NWIRC #PortOfSkagit #RibbonCutting #SkagitCounty #EDASC #SedroWoolley #EconomicDevelopment #Innovation #Construction #BuildingBeyondTheBuilding

Less Panes, More Gains At the Port of Edmonds Harbor Square, TRICO’s Service team delivered more than just routine maintenance. We created refreshed, modernized spaces that elevate the tenant experience. By combining necessary upgrades like new roofing and electrical improvements with aesthetic enhancements including storefront windows, brighter interiors, and upgraded lighting, the three atrium corner units now feel revitalized and welcoming. Completed ahead of schedule, the project strengthens the long-term durability of the building while making this waterfront location even more attractive for local businesses. #tenantimprovements #portofedmonds #construction #buildingbeyondthebuilding

Space Reimagined: A New Chapter for the Seeker’s Library TRICO joined the Tree of Life Sanctuary as the ribbon was cut and the doors were opened to the newly renovated Seekers Library. Two suites were unified into one, featuring new meeting rooms, a librarian’s office, refreshed finishes, and a custom registration desk. Behind the scenes, we modernized the electrical, HVAC, and lighting systems to enhance comfort and preserve the library’s collection, while providing support in the installation of fixtures and furniture to ensure a seamless opening. The result is an inviting space that inspires curiosity, reflection, and connection. #treeoflifesanctuary #grandopening #ribboncutting #renovations #construction #buildingbeyondthebuilding

‘Shady’ News at the Blackburn Pickleball Pavilion In partnership with the Skagit Valley Pickleball Club, TRICO is installing new sun shades on the east and west sides of the pavilion at Skagit Valley College. These shades will reduce glare and create a more comfortable playing experience for athletes and spectators alike. The work is being completed outside of the court fencing, so play will be uninterrupted. Planned Completion: October 2 — just in time for the Skagit Valley Harvest Tournament October 3-5! #pickleball #blackburnpickleballpavilion #skagitvalleycollege #svc #community #skagitvalley #buildingbeyondthebuilding

Game On, Whidbey! We’re thrilled to partner with the South Whidbey Parks & Recreation District, RWD Landscape Architects, Morley & Sons Construction, and the South Whidbey community to bring six brand-new pickleball courts to life at the South Whidbey Sports Complex. This project is proof of what’s possible when a community rallies together. Construction is underway. Blending Old and New for a Fresh Finish We recently wrapped up a tenant improvement project that brings a sleek, industrial vibe to the space. Previously an empty shell in an older building, the interior has been thoughtfully transformed with refreshed finishes and a functional layout—creating a modern, welcoming environment for new tenants. The work began with demo of the existing flooring and installation of new carpet tile. We reconfigured the layout to include a new ADA-compliant restroom, added a break room and conference room, and built three private offices. Updated lighting and IT/data infrastructure completed the transformation. Original exposed concrete elements remain, adding a hint of industrial character that offsets the polished new finishes. #tenantimprovements #interiorrenovations #commercialconstruction #commercialbuildout #service #construction

A Clear Path to Better Care Exciting progress continues on the Emergency Department refresh at WhidbeyHealth, all in support of delivering faster, more accessible emergency care for our community. One of the most visible and impactful changes is the redesigned reception area. The previous circular desk, often overlooked, has been replaced with a welcoming, centrally located registration hub. Now clearly positioned at the main entrance, it provides an intuitive point of arrival for patients and families, improving wayfinding and ensuring quicker access to care. Additional upgrades include a refreshed main triage room, an updated patient exam room, and early improvements to the emergency corridor. These enhancements are just the beginning. Coming soon: upgrades to the remaining exam and trauma rooms, nurses’ station, and staff support spaces. At Whidbey Health, we’re building a more responsive and accessible Emergency Department—because better spaces support better care. #whidbeyhealth #emergencydepartment #healthcareconstruction #buildingbeyondthebuilding #construction #islandcounty

A Fresh Start, the Same Heart We were honored to join the Skagit community last week for the ribbon cutting at the brand-new Skagit Valley Family YMCA Oasis Youth Shelter. This thoughtfully designed space has been rebuilt from the ground up to serve as a haven for teens experiencing housing insecurity or homelessness. Seeing the space filled with energy and connection was a powerful reminder of what we can build together. We’re proud to have played a role in bringing this vision to life and look forward to seeing the continued impact Oasis will have on the Skagit community for years to come. *Photos Courtesy of Courtney Holcomb Photography #skagitymca #oasisteenshelter #community #ribboncutting #TRICOprojects #buildingwithpurpose #buildingbeyondthebuidling #ymca #skagitcounty
