Our portfolio company Artificial.Agency has released a new demo showcasing their behavior engine. It features "CASS," an autonomous character agent, and a "Game Director" agent working in tandem. The core of the tech allows CASS to choose every gesture and interaction in real time. This is a significant step in their work to make game environments more dynamic. The full sneak peek is on their YouTube channel:
We’re excited to share a new sneak peek of our behavior engine, which showcases how we can integrate runtime agentic intelligence into any aspect of gaming. Meet CASS: our character agent who acts autonomously. We define her role, objectives, and actions available to her, and our engine empowers CASS to freely choose every phrase, gesture, and interaction in real time. In our new demo, you will see how we experiment with CASS’s characterizations — evolving her instantly from a guide with a dry sense of humor to a dramatic, Gothic villain. We also introduce you to our Game Director agent, who operates behind the scenes to guide the unfolding story. This is just a preview of how we’re building towards a future where agents transform the way games are made, played, and experienced. We have many more demos and sneak peeks in the works. How do we ensure our two-phase direct-to-chip cooling systems are engineered for maximum performance? It comes from owning the entire design and optimization stack. In this clip, our Head of Data Center Design, Andrew White, P.Eng, gives a tour of the advanced in-house lab we use to rapidly iterate, validate, and perfect our data center hardware. We are excited to announce our investment in Axiom, a company developing a foundation model capable of solving complex mathematical problems and providing the critical proofs behind its solutions. Based in Palo Alto, California, the company was founded in 2025 by founder and CEO Carina Hong. Axiom aims to convert mathematical knowledge from textbooks and journals into a machine-readable format, enabling its AI model to independently generate new problems and formally prove its own solutions. Toyota Ventures is excited to participate in Axiom’s $64 million Seed round, led by B Capital. Frontier Fund principal Chris Abshire drove Toyota Ventures’ investment in the round. We're thrilled to announce that Toyota Ventures has hit a major milestone: 100 portfolio companies! A huge thank you to all the incredible founders who have allowed us to be part of their journey in discovering what's next. Our founder and general partner, Jim Adler, shared his thoughts on this moment. Read his full post below: #earlystage #invesments #CVC
For us, at Toyota Ventures, an investment isn’t just capital — it's the seminal act of joining the founder’s stakeholder team. After the handshake of that first investment, their success is our success. We are honored to be celebrating our 100th handshake, a milestone representing 100 votes of confidence on the brilliant, resilient entrepreneurs whose stakeholder team we’ve had the honor to join. When we launched Toyota Ventures in 2017, we began with one fund of $100 million and a clear mission to help early-stage startups bring their disruptive technologies to market quickly. This direction led us to invest in early trailblazers like Joby Aviation and May Mobility. Today, our portfolio now spans the globe including startups in Mexico, Canada, Europe, India, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. We now have six funds with more than $800 million under management spanning both frontier tech and climate tech. Yet, for all that has changed, we continue to share Margaret Mead’s core conviction that a small team of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has. For our next 100 investments, we're doubling down on frontier and climate tech — from AI and robotics to space and alternative energy — to tackle humanity's greatest challenges. I’m so looking forward to another 100 handshakes with those founders who are discovering what’s next.
