Smart Sensor Systems Software and Hardware for Industrial IoT Reliability Maintenance
About us
Founded in 2010, TinMan Systems is a privately held Industrial IoT company based in Issaquah, WA with technology especially devised to monitor and provide the ‘critical’ diagnostics for industrial equipment and conveyors. Our multi-sensor devices are used by our customers for the commissioning and preventative maintenance of their large conveyor systems. Our systems are designed to inspect and identify failure and pre-failure modes of conveyor systems through our unique patented approach called: On-Board Real-Time Multi-Sensor Diagnostics. This approach provides a connected, holistic first-person diagnostic view of the conveyor and its payload. Our systems provide a multi-sensor experience of the conveyor system route by either attaching to the tote/package or attaching to the moving parts of the conveyor, and use a unique set of cameras, sensors, thermography, and location synchronization to build a layered-holistic view of the health of the system. For several years now, some of the largest companies in the world have been purchasing and using our “Mobile” Multi-Sensor conveyor diagnostic system – now in use at 100’s of distribution centers in 8 countries around the world. Reliability engineers use these devices, to identify dozens of impending or existing failure states for conveyance. Our customers use these systems to validate the commissioning phase for conveyors at new centers, as well as for ongoing routine maintenance at new and legacy centers. This experience has increased our understanding of maintenance challenges pursuing maximum uptime and operational excellence. We also provide software and professional services for the development and deployment of embedded systems. With over 1.5 million lines of source code, our software platform consists of 3 categories: Real-time sensor data fusion, visualization, and control (TinMan RealTime™), Intelligent Automation (AI Builder) and Pattern Recognition.

If you're a contractor or integrator servicing airport baggage handling systems—this is your competitive edge. Join the ranks of top firms winning more business with TinMan Systems' MCIS—Mobile Conveyor Inspection System. Here’s how it works: Place the MCIS directly on the baggage handling system. Let it run the full operational course. Pick it up at the end—and instantly access a detailed diagnostic report. MCIS uses synchronized video cameras, thermal imaging, and multi-axis sensors to detect, bookmark, and interpret mechanical anomalies, threshold breaches, and early-stage failure events. It’s plug-and-play predictive maintenance. From the very first run, MCIS delivers insights that even seasoned technicians might miss—giving you the data to act before downtime hits. TinMan Systems has been doing this for 15 years. Multi-sensor data integration, evaluation, and interpretation is our bailiwick. We design and deploy state-of-the-art sensor systems that turn raw data into actionable intelligence. Win more contracts. Deliver more value. Lead with TinMan Systems' MCIS. #AirportOperations #BaggageHandling #PredictiveMaintenance #ContractorTools #TinManSystems #MCIS

The Cascades Smart Wireless Continuous Monitoring System from TinMan Systems delivers scalable, real-time insight across dynamic industrial environments. At its core is the Cascades Base Station software, orchestrating a live, map-based view of the Crossbelt Sorter, where each icon marks a smart wireless sensor actively streaming information from sensor measurements—3-axis vibration, conductor head thermal profiles, 3D orientation, voltage, and more. Each sensor continuously evaluates its own data against preset and machine-learned thresholds, pushing only meaningful deviations upstream. Alerts are automatically classified, identified, and pinpointed in real time—visibly flagged at their exact point of origin. It’s a shift from raw data to autonomous awareness—precision and scale, fused into a single operational view. Introducing SORTERVision™ from TinMan Systems, a revolutionary diagnostic tool that effortlessly attaches to cross-belt sorter conveyors. It offers an extensive view of the entire sorter, both above and below. SORTERVision meticulously inspects vital structural and mechanical components like wheels, conductor brushes, belts, and motors to ensure optimal operation. Equipped with 3 video cameras, it provides comprehensive visuals of the conveyor’s entire length—covering the top and both sides of the interior underside. Additionally, a thermal vision camera evaluates the heat of motors and conductor brush assemblies. The system integrates multiple sensors (sound, temperature, 3-axis vibration, angle of pitch, and roll), recording and analyzing data for detailed review by reliability engineers. All data, video, and analysis with bookmarked threshold events are embedded into output files for thorough examination.
