On Nevada Day, we honor the spirit that built the Battle Born State: resilience and resolve. That same spirit drives Three Square Food Bank as we respond to the growing food crisis affecting nearly 400,000 Southern Nevadans who have lost federally funded grocery benefits. With support from the State of Nevada, we are expanding emergency distributions, sourcing more food, and opening our doors wider to meet rising demand. As the federal government shutdown continues, uncertainty is growing for thousands of families and individuals across Southern Nevada. Our team is responding with urgency and compassion, while working tirelessly to keep food flowing. This month, we’ve launched more than 20 new pop-up food distributions across the community. Earlier today, we hosted a distribution dedicated to TSA employees who need extra support during the shutdown. Even in uncertain times, our commitment to ensuring every neighbor has the food they need remains constant. Meet John, our Employee of the Month! John's been a part of our Transportation Department for nearly three years. He's on the road daily delivering food to families and individuals, as well as BackPack bags for children. It's a record-breaking year for Las Vegas Restaurant Week! Thanks to the support of restaurants, foodservice businesses, and foodies, we raised the equivalent of more than 1.2 million meals for our neighbors facing food insecurity. #LVRW
