The FDA has approved a new test from Thermo Fisher that can help improve care for patients with aggressive brain tumors. The test can help identify patients eligible for Servier Pharmaceuticals' VORANIGO® tablets, the first and only FDA-approved treatment for Grade 2 IDH-mutant astrocytoma and oligodendroglioma, a rare and relentless brain cancer that hasn’t seen treatment advancements in nearly 25 years. This approval underscores the importance of precision medicine and the critical role genomic testing plays in matching patients with potentially life-changing therapies at the right time. https://lnkd.in/e2THaFtG

A team of scientists equipped with a Thermo Fisher scanning electron microscope braved the heat and poisonous gasses inside newly formed lava tubes to learn how life begins in extreme environments. Their discoveries could help explain how that process occurs on Mars and other planets with volcanic activity. https://lnkd.in/dAN6mtfv

To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, our colleagues came together for a discussion on the power of diversity. "Diverse teams come together to drive innovation, collaboration and take the business and competition to the next level. I’m in operations, so there’s a lot of problem-solving and you can see the dynamic when you have a diverse team in the room talking about different ideas, different perspectives and we embrace it,” Manuel Tavarez, VP Global Operations CAD, told the group. Thank you to our Hola! Business Resource Group and everyone who came together to make this celebration possible.

What if you could “see” breast cancer in the body before it could be detected by imaging? That’s what Dr. Karen Page is hoping to do with a liquid biopsy—a simple blood draw that can be analyzed for genetic markers that show signs of early, recurring, active or dormant tumors. Using our sample prep and diagnostic testing platforms, Dr. Page and her team at the Leicester Cancer Research Center are working to improve liquid biopsy methods for breast cancer detection so the less invasive test can give more insights into cancer progression than standard biopsies. This #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, we want to thank scientific pioneers like Dr. Page who are helping accelerate innovation in how we detect and manage the disease. Read more about how Dr. Page and her team are reshaping breast cancer management: https://lnkd.in/gMG2pdRK
