Our team is currently deep in the design phase. Engineers are setting requirements, designing, modelling and performing detailed calculations. In close collaboration with alumni, university experts and professionals from our partner network, we are bringing the next step in solar mobility to life. Deadlines are strict, yet the team manages them with efficiency and great enthusiasm. Meanwhile, we are defining the shape for the newest addition to our Stella Family. What do you think our next solar vehicle will look like?

About us

🌟Team ’26 is officially on the move!🌟 This September, Solar Team Eindhoven kicked off a brand-new team with twenty ambitious students. After becoming four-time world champions in Australia, completing a solar-powered road trip across Europe, and even conquering the Sahara Desert in our solar off-roader, we are ready to push boundaries once again. Over the coming year we will design and build an innovative, energy-efficient solar-powered vehicle, continuing our mission to accelerate the transition towards a sustainable future in both mobility and energy. We are proud to start this journey together with our inspiring partners, and we are open to new collaborations along the way. The adventure starts now, join the ride with us in the coming year! 👀 📸 Picture by Bart van Overbeeke

The world’s first solar off-road car participating in a road tour! 🚗 Stella Terra participated in a beautiful drive through the Betuwe in the Netherlands, surrounded by old-timers, sports cars and other unique vehicles. All powered by the sun.☀️ That is the advantage of having a licence plate on Stella Terra: it demonstrates that the vehicle is not merely a prototype. A solar-powered off-road vehicle like this is permitted and feasible within current regulations.📖 Even more importantly, the licence plate makes it possible to take part in road tours and to inspire many people along the way.💡

On 13 March, we travelled with Stella Terra to Switzerland to the EPFL Sustainable Innovation Challenge. Showing our project and meeting up with sustainability experts and other student teams to exchange our visions on sustainability and help each other! 🌱 We have learned a lot and it was exciting to show Stella Terra, sharing knowledge and our story to the Swiss and international audience. 📸 STE & Mehdi Bouguerra Ezzina

Stella Terra ⛰️ World’s first off-road solar car Last year the team has developed the first off-road car powered by the energy of the sun, making it independent of charging stations. Stella Terra is robust enough to navigate not only on paved roads but also on rough terrain and even offers the option for overnight stays: ultimate freedom powered by the sun. Through the various landscapes of Morocco, Stella Terra has driven over a thousand kilometres on the power of the sun. 📸: Bart van Overbeeke

Stella Vita🏡 A Self-sustaining House On Wheels In 2020, the team faced the question: What’s next? After extensive discussions within the group, the decision was made. We are not going to participate in the World Solar Challenge; we are not going to Australia. We are going to create a SHOW, a Self-Sustaining House On Wheels. Stella Vita, the solar-powered camper van. This means that this mobile house is self-sufficient in terms of energy. With solar panels on the roof, it’s independent of charging stations. The vehicle generates enough solar energy to drive, shower, watch TV, charge your laptop, and make coffee. Stella Vita travelled from Eindhoven to the southernmost tip of Europe, Tarifa. 📸: Bart van Overbeeke
