  • As we bid farewell to our legendary Boeing 747-200 Flying Testbed, we’re celebrating the legacy it leaves behind – particularly its role in testing ALECSys, our advanced low-emissions combustion system. By testing these critical technologies in flight, the Flying Testbed ensures systems are ready for the next-generation of engines – including UltraFan. In its final mission, ALECSys delivered vital insights into NOx reduction, smoke characteristics and compatibility with 100% SAF. A fitting final chapter for an aircraft that helped shaped our future: https://ow.ly/5j6x50Xyy90

  • As Europe’s data centre industry surges, our mtu backup power solutions are more critical than ever – even in densely built-up urban areas. Two of our mtu 16V 4000 gensets were recently installed within a compact split-level configuration in central London in partnership with AVK-SEG along with remote cooling, mezzanine-mounted radiators and advanced control upgrades. And with HVO compatibility, our gensets offer up to 90% lower CO₂ emissions – a sustainable choice for a greener urban future. https://ow.ly/PWGB50XsJFw #mtuSolutions #DataCentres #BackupPower #Series4000

  • The introduction of the Trent 1000 XE follows the successful certification of a package of improvements including a new High Pressure Turbine (HPT) blade that has been engineered for longer life. With a comprehensive blade and cooling system redesign that delivers a 40% increase in cooling flow, we are significantly reducing the temperature of the blade and dramatically increasing the engines time on wing. • We are very pleased that Rolls-Royce SMR will be working with the local community at Wylfa, on Ynys Môn (Anglesey), to establish the first three Rolls-Royce Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). This is another important milestone on the journey towards delivering the greater energy security and resilience, as well as economic growth, that SMRs can create.

The Wylfa site on Ynys Môn (Anglesey) in North Wales will be the first UK site for three Rolls-Royce Small Modular Reactors (SMRs). Ynys Môn’s strong nuclear heritage and engaged community make it the ideal location to launch our UK fleet programme. This is the first step in a 100-year commitment to clean energy, innovation, and community partnership. Chris Cholerton, Rolls-Royce SMR Chief Executive, said: “We are honoured to establish our UK fleet programme at Wylfa. This is a tremendous opportunity for North Wales and the wider UK, as we build a resilient supply chain and launch a major export programme.” We will deliver nuclear power very differently by utilising modularisation and a high level of factory build, therefore minimising the impact on local people from infrastructure delivery. We are excited to be working with the local community to create jobs and growth and establishing an enduring legacy for future generations. #RollsRoyceSMR #GBEN #CleanEnergy #NuclearPower #Wylfa #NorthWales #YnysMôn #SMR #Innovation #CommunityPartnership #EnergyTransition
