The First Leopard 2A8 Rolls Out With TROPHY APS - Setting a New European Standard for Armored Protection Last week in Munich, KNDS officially rolled out the first Leopard 2A8 Main Battle Tanks equipped with RAFAEL’s TROPHY Active Protection System (APS) - the first Leopard variant to be delivered with TROPHY as part of its standard factory configuration. The tanks were formally handed over to the German Army and the Norwegian Armed Forces, marking a defining shift in how European armored forces equip for modern, high-threat environments. Integrated directly on the KNDS production line, TROPHY is now positioned as the new benchmark for survivability, crew protection, and freedom of maneuver across Europe’s armored formations. The program is executed through EuroTrophy GmbH, the European joint venture between RAFAEL, KNDS, and GDELS, responsible for production, security of supply, and long-term sustainment. With more than 1,900 systems procured and thousands of real-world interceptions, TROPHY remains the world’s only operational and combat-proven Active Protection System, delivering unmatched performance with a flawless safety record. R2S Officially Opens U.S. Iron Dome Interceptor Production Facility in Camden, Arkansas R2S - the joint venture between RAFAEL Advanced Defense Systems and RTX - has officially opened its new Iron Dome interceptor production facility in Camden, Arkansas. The ceremony, held with Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders, marks a major step in expanding U.S. production capacity for combat-proven air-defense systems and strengthening the long-standing industrial partnership between the United States and Israel. This new facility will serve as a critical production center supporting interceptor manufacturing for U.S. requirements, including the U.S. Marine Corps’ Medium Range Intercept Capability (MRIC) program. The opening was made possible with the close cooperation of the Israeli Missile Defense Organization (IMDO), whose partnership remains essential to the Iron Dome system’s continued success. RAFAEL UNVEILS L-SPIKE 1x - A New Tactical Loitering Munition Rafael Advanced Defense Systems has introduced the L-SPIKE 1x, a compact tactical loitering munition engineered for company-level operations. Building on the legacy of the SPIKE Firefly, the 1x delivers upgraded performance in a lighter, more portable configuration. Developed to full MIL-STD requirements, the L-SPIKE 1x maintains reliable operation under GPS-denied environments, communication disruptions, and harsh weather. An official from Rafael noted: “Its retrievable, reusable design and flawless safety record-even after intensive operational use-set it apart.” The announcement follows Rafael’s unveiling of the larger L-SPIKE 4x at AUSA 2025, marking the next step in the evolving SPIKE loitering family.

Israel Ministry of Defense Signs Multi-Billion-Dollar Contract with Rafael to Expand Iron Dome Production The Israel Ministry of Defense has signed a major procurement contract with Rafael to significantly expand the serial production of Iron Dome interceptors for the IDF. The agreement follows comprehensive negotiations between the IMOD, the U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and Rafael, and is supported by the U.S. aid package approved by Congress in 2024. The contract ensures a substantial increase in interceptor production as part of Israel’s multi-layered air-defense architecture. Iron Dome - developed by Rafael in Israel and co-produced with U.S. partners - has demonstrated exceptional operational performance throughout the recent conflict, intercepting rockets, missiles, UAVs, and cruise-missile threats with high reliability. The system remains a central pillar in protecting Israel’s civilian population across multiple fronts.
