New Mexico recently enacted a law banning the use of intentionally added PFAS, which may impact manufacturers. The law builds upon similar statutes passed by Maine and Minnesota to provide greater detail and clarity about both the restrictions created by the law and certain statutory exemptions, including a first-of-its-kind exemption for fluoropolymers. The biotech M&A market continues to face strong headwinds, including frozen capital markets, regulatory uncertainty and tariffs. Many public biotechs are trading below cash value and navigating increased financial pressure. Over the last few weeks, agencies and lawmakers in the U.S. appear to have begun laying the foundation for a comprehensive digital asset framework. Washington is beginning to rethink the U.S.’s approach to ensure digital assets are integrated into the financial system: scaling back enforcement, opening the door to experimentation and inching toward modern regulation. We look at the latest developments in this week’s Crypto Policy Tracker: https://lnkd.in/gdbk8F7W Lisa Rubin, Derek Turnbull, Dina Ellis Rochkind - Paul Hastings Counsel Govt. Many business development companies and closed-end management investment companies can expect a new form of exemptive relief as they look to co-invest in portfolio companies with each other and certain affiliates, following the SEC’s issuance of public notices that signal its approval of the innovative variant of the existing co-investment exemptive relief paradigm. We summarize what the changes are in a client alert: https://lnkd.in/enS8rdWr Mike Rosella, Thomas D. Peeney
