🌧️ Here are some tips for recognizing depression in children and teens: In younger children: persistent sadness, loss of interest in play, changes in appetite/sleep, frequent complaints of stomachaches or headaches In teens: irritability, social withdrawal, academic decline, risky behaviors, feelings of hopelessness, sleep changes Important: These symptoms need to persist for weeks and interfere with daily functioning to be concerning. Depression in children often looks different than in adults. Trust your instincts if something feels "off" with your child. At Pathways Counseling Services, early intervention makes a huge difference. 💙 #DepressionAwareness #ChildMentalHealth #EarlyIntervention #ParentingSupport #MentalHealthEducation #PathwaysCounselingServices #RecognizeTheSigns #GetHelp #YouAreNotAlone
