Some thoughts on #COP30. Everyone who’s been there knows how huge and immersive this conference is. 🌎 For us, it wasn’t just about being part of the conversation. It was about getting things done with the partners we rely on to protect our planet. We sat down with institutions like ATCO and KfW to push concrete initiatives ahead. Our Konstantin Pieper joined ATCO’s pavilion as a technology solution provider, discussing how to provide better monitoring solutions for Amazon countries. 🌳 Being at COP30 is, for us, a sign of responsibility. We share its values and its urgency. So far, OroraTech has monitored 5.0 million km² of forests worldwide. 🏭 In 2024 alone, we helped our customers prevent large disastrous fires, avoiding more than 50 million tons of CO₂ emissions, roughly the annual emissions of the entire German steel industry. That’s why these conferences matter to us: they’re not just a stage, they’re a tool. A place where collaboration turns into commitments, and commitments into impact. Less talking, more action. Soon we’ll share more about what came out of it. Stay tuned! #carbonemissions #climateaction #netzero #greeneconomy Pierre Duquesne

What does “success” really mean in a fire resilience solution? #CarbonWebinar Three years ago, Permian Global approached us with a mission: to protect a forest area in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. This was the basis of a carbon credit project designed to safeguard carbon stocks and support local communities. We provided satellite monitoring to detect thermal anomalies and prevent wildfires from damaging the protected area. Today, we are still collaborating, and the project rating has been upgraded from A to AA, reflecting stronger safeguards and reduced wildfire impact. How do you define a successful project? Hear from Permian Global's Javier Ruiz-Ramos and David Stone, sharing how satellite intelligence not only reduced wildfire risks but also increased investor confidence and long-term project viability. 📆 December 3 📍 Online - 5 pm CET 🌳 With carbon experts Lucas Neif and Leonie F. Look at this incredible moment: our team signing the Hellenic Fire System satellites 🇬🇷 This is our first government project, developed hand in hand with the Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance. Thanks to this close collaboration, Greece’s first wildfire-monitoring system is moving quickly to deployment. The Hellenic Fire System represents a huge leap forward in national safety and a powerful use of space technology to protect life on Earth. 🛰️ Some tech notes! This proprietary constellation uses advanced thermal imaging and AI-powered data to provide near-real-time fire tracking and crucial fire-risk prediction to Greek emergency services. ✅ This means detecting fires faster, predicting their spread, and supporting firefighters with intelligence to dramatically mitigate damage. We’re not just launching satellites. We’re launching a safer future for Greece! 👇 Sign up for our newsletter to get all our project updates! https://lnkd.in/dQHYTEgs #wildfiretracking #wildfiregreece #nationalconstellation #thermaldetection Credits: The project is being carried out under an @ESA Contract in the frame of the Greek National Satellite Space Project. The Project: Small-Satellites (Measure ID 16855) is implemented by the Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance with the European Space Agency (ESA) Assistance in the Management and Implementation. The project is part of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan ‘Greece 2.0’, which is funded by the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), core programme of the European Union-NextGenerationEU.

⚠️ Wildfires cause approximately 25% of the global CO₂ emissions. 90% of these emissions come from less than 10% of fires that have gone out of control. That’s why it is urgent to protect and preserve our carbon stocks, as we are doing with Permian Global, providing space intelligence to spot threats early, prevent forest degradation, and limit greenhouse gas emissions. ✅️ And we know for sure it’s working! Their project areas haven’t experienced a single fire since we started monitoring! Join our free webinar to hear from Javier Ruiz-Ramos Ramos and David Stone how satellite intelligence improved project ratings and investor trust! 📆 December 3rd. 📍 Online - 5 pm CET. 🌳 With carbon experts Lucas Neif and Leonie F. Space intelligence must adopt a global approach. 🌳 That’s why we are teaming up with Earth Fire Alliance to provide space-based wildfire insights to high-impact regions in Africa, like Kruger National Park and conservation areas across Zambia. Wildfires in Africa have a huge impact both on natural resources and on communities. But thanks to this collaboration, “we are bringing wildfire data directly to NGOs and nonprofit organizations, giving the most advanced tools to those who need them most.” Axel Roenneke, CCO at OroraTech. 🌎 We’ll use our Wildfire Solution to join the mission of connecting local action to global datasets. Because, as Earth Fire Alliance Executive Director Brian Collins states, “a global monitoring perspective is crucial to come up with better resilience strategies across the planet.” Together, we are making a step toward a more resilient world, turning wildfires from one predictable threat to something the world can solve. How crucial is the aerospace industry in addressing the green transition? 🚀🌳 That’s the question we explored at the Climate Talks of ITKAM - Italian Chamber of Commerce for Germany, hosted by Ambassador Thomas Bagger. Our Director of Government Solutions, Christian W. and CCO Axel Roenneke joined the German-Italian Aerospace Forum, alongside 120+ peers from Germany and Italy. As Axel Roenneke stated, earth observation satellites are providing essential insights for what we know about climate change. 🎤 “Today such services cannot only be provided by scientists and space agencies but also private companies. And we are among them: at OroraTech we operate the largest commercial fleet of infrared satellites in low-Earth orbit.” Together with Susanne Heckrodt, Chiara Pedersoli, and Vittorio Pagni, we shared what space and earth observation initiatives do to protect our planet. We’re excited to keep building these bridges and put space technology to work for the planet! A huge thank you to Sara Anoun and MInter Group, as well as AVIO, Barabino&Partners, DLA Piper, and PERSICO GROUP for organizing this event! Credits: German Embassy - Rome.

🚨What if one early alert could save $35 million? Wildfires don’t start as disasters. 🔥 The Lava Fire was officially reported on September 2nd, 2024. At that time, Southwest Idaho registered above-normal wildfire risk, with the national preparedness level bouncing between 4 and 5. The fire ended up spreading quickly and growing into a multimillion-dollar disaster. This could have been avoided. 🔍 Our system detected the fire on August 29th, three days before the official alert. It means that the fire has been smoldering undetected. What if those 72 hours were used differently? Our new case study breaks down the timeline, the decision windows, and the economics of acting sooner. The conclusion? Early satellite detection changes outcomes, for budgets and for communities. If you’re responsible for emergency management and resource allocation, this is worth a closer look. Space is open for business 🚀 Nowadays, companies can grow by actively adopting scalable space technologies. It is no longer a possibility but a current reality. This was the focus of our discussion at Economist Impact events, where our CEO and CTO Martin Langer highlighted how the space industry is shifting from pilots to profitable products. 🛰️ With satellites delivering persistent coverage and AI turning data into trusted, actionable insights, Earth Observation is now more than ready for business! Key market opportunities are emerging in the space sector, driven by deep tech innovations that maximize the benefit of satellite data. By removing barriers that currently restrict the growth of space agencies, we can unlock unprecedented potential for returns and innovation. 🔥 In other words, the market is ready, and so are we! Happy to share this perspective and the stage with professionals like Andrew Wilcox, Anu Swatantran, Iddo Salton, Swarna Kuruganti and Craig Brown. And a big thanks to The Economist team for having us! #SpaceEconomy #EconSpace #AI #EarthObservation #TheEconomistSummit
