Today we recorded the final edition of "The Race Weekend," Scripps News' twist on the weekend/Sunday public affairs show. It was one of the first new series I put on the network. It was a solid performer, despite some challenging time slots on local stations. The heart and soul of the program was Deputy Political Director Joe St. George and senior producer Miguel Pineda (with a strong launch assist from line producer Joshua Evans). We also partnered with POLITICO on the program for a weekly panel of their top reporters and those from Scripps News. Here is the "A" block from this weekend's program which features Daniel Lippman from Politico and several of our other political content partners including Anna Massoglia at OpenSecrets, Scott Tranter from DDHQ and Andy Kroll from ProPublica. All have been wonderful partners for the last 10 months and no words can express our thanks for making "The Race Weekend" a competitive program with the other public affairs shows every weekend.
