🌋 It’s New Zealand Geothermal Week 2025! We’re proud to see New Zealand Story CEO David Downs present at the Leaders' Breakfast. This was a fantastic opportunity to highlight New Zealand’s expertise in geothermal energy and reinforce that our country is a leader in emerging fields, technologies, and innovation!
NZ Geothermal Week 2025 recap: The Leaders' Breakfast was the opportunity for decision makers in the industry to connect directly and hear from our guest speaker, David Downs, CEO of New Zealand Story Group. In his presentation, David highlighted some of the amazing stories from Aotearoa that have helped shaped our country. From the intrepid journeys of early settlers to the innovation on New Zealand’s own shores, he showcased all the things that make this country great, with geothermal energy expertise being one of them. He challenged the attendees to stop thinking about Aotearoa as a small country at the bottom of the world and rather as a nation that is at the heart of many emerging fields and technologies. This talk set the scene for the following discussions held during NZ Geothermal Week, with the delegates inspired by David's words and nourished by a delicious breakfast thanks to the team at Kefi. The Leaders' Breakfast was kindly sponsored by Cheal Consultants Ltd. #NZGeothermal #NZGeothermalWeek2025 Amplify (Taupo District Economic Development)

It’s amazing to see the TCM Cultural Experience Centre in Guangdong come to life by Wētā Workshop! This project reflects years of creative exchange and long-term relationships – built on trust, collaboration, and a shared commitment to innovation. We’re proud to see New Zealand creativity making a global impact. 🌏 New Zealand Trade and Enterprise
Wētā Workshop co-founder and Chief Creative Officer Richard Taylor, Head of Creative Media Sam Gao, and General Manager of Creative Services Grant Bensley were thrilled to be a part of the opening of the TCM Cultural Experience Center in Guangdong, China, on July 19. The Guangdong-Macao TCM Science and Technology Industrial Park includes offices, R&D centres, hotels, retail streets, an experience centre, pharmaceutical facilities, and staff apartments. As a core facility, the five-storey TCM Cultural Experience Center, with a floor area of 36,000 square metres, is both the flagship of the park’s health sector and a symbol of cultural integration in the Greater Bay Area. TCM offers a fully immersive experience, guiding visitors on a journey — from the origins of traditional Chinese medicine to the present, and beyond. As well as fully interactive visual displays throughout the five-storey building, visitors will encounter magical forests, impressive miniatures and larger-than-life hyper-realistic figures. The journey finishes in the future, with an imagined space crew gathering medicines from around the universe. This project is the culmination of our decades-long relationship with China, and celebrates the strong creative exchange we have established in this market.
