We love seeing the PhD students in Pharm Tox getting their work published. Well done Saamera!
Exciting news — my paper is officially published in Toxicology in Vitro! 🎉 We discovered that exposing dendritic cells to tBHQ, a common food additive, can actually inhibit dendritic cell activation in response to bacterial and viral stimuli. It’s a fascinating glimpse into how dietary compounds might influence our immune responses. Immensely grateful for the mentorship and teamwork that made this possible!

So great to see Yun being highlighted by the College of Osteopathic Medicine.
At the MSU College of Osteopathic Medicine, innovation thrives at the intersection of science and engineering. Dr. Yun Liang, associate professor of Physiology and Pharmacology and Toxicology, is collaborating with Dr. Weiyi Lu from the Michigan State University College of Engineering to study how liquid nanofoam can protect organs from blunt force trauma. Early results show promise for shielding the liver, kidneys, heart and lungs — with potential applications in automotive safety, building design and protective gear.
