Simple guide for choosing a tool for your PKM or TKM. Prompted by a (beer) roundtable discussion during the Innovation week in Prague 😊 When choosing tool(s) for your personal or team knowledge management (or any tool) ... You should know what you’re looking for! Make a list if you have to ... “If you don’t know what you want or need, then it’s hard to ask for it.” Don’t try to buy the most features, the shiniest logo, or the trending stuff; you’ll end up feature-overwhelmed, always feeling behind, and unhappy. Simple options: If you mostly write and collect thoughts and ideas in writing - get Mem or Kortex. If you also need planning, tables, and sharing or web publishing capabilities - get Coda or Notion. (my PKM apps table is made in Coda, my ideas evaluation matrix is made in Notion) If you need more complex workflows, you want all of the above and also one central location for all your product and company data - get Fibery or Miro. If you are not sure what you want and need in the area of personal or team knowledge management - just use what you already have Google Suite, Microsoft O365. If you must have a new toy, try Notion. It's very popular, platform universal, clean, does a lot or a little depending on your skills and dedication to it.
