Exciting Seminar at the Maryland Robotics Center! We were thrilled to host Dr. Nicole Xu, Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado Boulder, for today’s MRC Seminar. Dr. Xu shared her groundbreaking work on biohybrid robotic jellyfish and bioinspired vehicle designs for ocean exploration. Her research combines laboratory experiments, computational modeling, and field studies to develop innovative underwater robots inspired by nature — from live jellyfish integrated with microelectronics to synthetic fins that enhance vehicle performance. These advances have the potential to transform ocean monitoring, exploration, and engineering applications. A big thank you to everyone who joined, and to our MRC team for making this event possible! #umd #robotics #marylandroboticscenter
