We're hearing the pleas for help, and want our neighbors and friends to know we are here to support them during the federal shutdown. On our website, Marylanders are telling us they're worried about food, rent, and finding a job. https://211md.org/ In our newsletter https://lnkd.in/eDEdhAgM, we shared our one-stop location for the latest information and community resources. Maryland Responds streamlines access to information https://lnkd.in/eqEdMbue We're ready to share pop-up events and add community resources to the state's most comprehensive health and human services database. Quickly add community events here: https://lnkd.in/etPWDdje Anyone who wants to talk can reach a caring and compassionate person with our Call Center Network. A coordinated response ensures every Marylander knows where to turn and that no one faces this disruption alone. Watch this message from Maryland Information Network's President and CEO, Kenyn Benjamin.

Maryland is responding. Together, we can help federal workers, individuals, and families impacted by the federal shutdown by connecting them to the latest information and resources: https://lnkd.in/eqEdMbue On top of the 8,500+ community resources in our database, we are ready to add more as they pop up during this shutdown. Tell us about upcoming food and community events to help those impacted: https://lnkd.in/eCGvDdN3 Let's work together to connect our neighbors and friends.

Imagine being in the ER for 100 days at just age 17. You want to go home. Your caregivers want you home. But you can’t go home without behavioral health supports in place. This isn’t an isolated story. Adolescents make up the majority of the patients we help through Care Coordination. In this powerful story, Kia Greene, a Maryland Care Coordinator (and a mom herself), shares how collaboration, compassion, and connection helped bring an adolescent back home. #nonprofit #carecoordination #pediatricpatients #behavioralhealth #connections

$1.5+ Million Net Savings! That's the power of partnership and person-centered support. This pilot, funded by the Maryland Department of Aging and the University of Maryland School of Medicine, helped patients stuck in emergency departments. Our newsletter, Maryland Connects, highlights this case study on how the Hospital Transitions Program (HTP) transformed lives. https://lnkd.in/daex6_Bk

Meet Allison (Alli) Milner, our new Care Coordination Lead. Allison brings 9 years of #nonprofit leadership experience and a Master’s in Nonprofit Management to the growing program. With her background as a case manager, she knows firsthand the challenges individuals and families face navigating health and human service referrals. What drew her to this role? The chance to tackle system-level barriers and to create a smoother path for those who need support most. Allison will work with hospitals and the Care Coordinators to build a stronger, more connected system between hospitals, patients, and community resources. In her spare time, you’ll find Allison walking her nine-year-old Beagle, gardening, and baking! She’s known in her friend and family circles as the baker! It started as a fun way to design birthday cakes for her nieces, and those birthday challenges have turned into a growing hobby. Allison even baked and decorated a wedding cake! Anyone else salivating?! Our team will take cake any day, Allison! 🍰 We’re thrilled to welcome Allison and her passion for building a stronger, more connected health and human services ecosystem! Say hello!

Support services play a critical role for justice-involved individuals, especially during the first months of release. We're working with the Maryland Department of Public Safety & Correctional Services to build solutions. We've added vetted reentry resources, searchable by ZIP code, to our Community Resource Database and supportive text messages. Let's inspire second chances by connecting people reentering the workforce and our communities. https://lnkd.in/egMfY_cZ #justiceinvolved #reentry #communitysolutions #nonprofit #communitypartnerships

More than 24,000 connections were made last fiscal year to #preventsuicide. Health Check was born from Congressman Jamie Raskin's legislative vision and scaled through state partnership with Senator Malcolm Augustine, Delegate Bonnie Cullison, and Senator Craig Zucker. While sidelined for now without a long-term commitment, it's an effective #mentalhealthtool that we can work together to bring back because connections create impact! #legislativepartnership #suicideprevention #mentalhealthmatters #connections #impact

For the last few years, our partnership with the collective impact initiative, Maryland Essentials for Childhood (Maryland EFC), and the Maryland Department of Health led to the development, launch, and marketing of Maryland EFC's improved website featuring the Brain-Building Toolkit and a statewide resource database. The Maryland Department of Health funded this work, and Maryland Information Network's information and technology powered the project and the resource database. As a result of the collective work, hundreds of new child and family-focused community resources were added, and the resources that grown-ups need to help children thrive are now more accessible. When we work together, we can make health and human services discoverable, understandable, and available statewide: https://lnkd.in/g-RJG4mB #nonprofit #informationandtechnology #communityresources #GetConnected #communitypartnership #healthandhumanservices
