This month, Marines from 2d Assault Amphibian Battalion conducted water driver training on the Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) at Camp Lejeune, marking another milestone in the ACV’s fielding. The Operator New Equipment Training (OPNET) Water Driving is a critical step in the ACV’s fielding process. It is designed to evaluate the ACV crewmember’s performance in its intended operational environment and provides trained and licensed operators to the force. The training is a building block for developing Marines to become proficient and lethal with ACV employment. Communication Strategy and Operations Marines with II Marine Expeditionary Force (MEF) recently conducted a field training exercise to test new 5G communications technology designed to support rapid, secure imagery transmission in contested and austere environments. “Timeliness is critical. If a Marine captures an image and holds onto it, the public doesn’t know what’s happening,” said Chief Warrant Officer 4 Izzel Sanchez, II MEF COMMSTRAT visual information officer. “By pairing speed with quality, we can deliver the truth quickly, counter propaganda, and give commanders and the public the real story from the ground.” Learn more about the exercise at: https://bit.ly/4fRtBra #EquippingOurMarines #MarineCorps #5G #COMMSTRAT
