In an era of cuts to global health aid, governments are looking for evidence-based interventions that provide the greatest benefits for the lowest cost.    Enter UNIMMAP #MMS. For just a few cents more than IFA (with 2 ingredients), MMS has 15 vitamins and minerals that support healthier pregnancies and better birth outcomes for women and their babies. Taking multiple micronutrient supplements (MMS) daily during pregnancy can prevent anemia, support a healthy pregnancy, and reduce the risk of babies being born too small, too soon, or stillborn. MMS provides 15 essential vitamins and minerals and has been shown to be more effective than iron and folic acid, which has long been the standard in low- and middle-income countries. Nepal is now exploring how to make this shift part of national policy.
