Our Environmental Sustainability Manager, Annie Rowell, recently visited Fargo, North Dakota, to meet with North Dakota Trusted Advisor Partnership (ND TAP) partners, a program King Arthur co-founded to provide farmers in North Dakota with educational resources and technical assistance to accelerate the transition to soil-health-focused practices (including no-till, crop rotation, cover cropping, nutrient management). Now in its second year, 33 trained advisors support over 704 farmers, helping create a significant regional impact. You get a business model that balances purpose with profit, creating value for employees, communities, and society at large. 🌍 💼 At Employee Owned 24, we were thrilled to join The ESOP Association and panelists from King Arthur Baking Company and Pariveda to share insights on integrating B Corp certification into ESOP companies. Together with Suzanne McDowell (she/her), Tiffany Lentz, and Mark Brennan, CPA, we explored our journeys as employee-owned companies (28 years for King Arthur Baking and 14 years for Pariveda) that have embraced B Corp certification. We discussed the alignment between employee ownership and the B Corp mission, our evaluation processes, and how we developed governance models that amplify the value of both structures.
