The Jiyan Foundation team is working to empower children by teaching them about their fundamental rights. We recently conducted two engaging seminars at Ashti Private School and Mohammed Qudsi Primary School in Sulaymaniyah as part of our Human Rights Education program. Our Duhok team in partnership with Khanky Camp and other organizations, held an event to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence. Together, we're working to create a safer community for camp residents, raise awareness about violence, and support survivors. تیمی دهۆکی دەزگای ژیان، بە هاوبەشی لەگەڵ کارگێڕیی کەمپی خانکی و ژمارەیەک ڕێکخراوی دیکە، لە چالاکیەکدا ڕۆژی جیهانی نەهێشتنی توندوتیژییان بەرز ڕاگرت. ئامانج لەم چالاکیە دروستکردنی کۆمەڵگەیەکی سەلامەتترە بۆ دانیشتوانی کەمپەکە، هۆشیارکردنەوەیانە سەبارەت بە توندوتیژی و پاڵپشتیکردنی ڕزگاربووان.

Last week, the Jiyan Foundation for Human Rights conducted a mental health awareness-raising session in Baadre SP’s IDP camp. Our expert therapists discussed depression, its signs, and how to get help. Jiyan Foundation conducted a one-day seminar on mental health for teachers from Shnyar, Khalifawa, Ibrahim Amin Baldar, and Awbara schools in Sulaimani. The seminars focused on self-monitoring, organizing, stress reduction, and workplace mental health. The aim was to raise teachers’ awareness of psychological issues and how to manage them. Jiyan Foundation recently conducted a two-day refresher training on narrative exposure therapy (NET) in Duhok City. This follows last year's intensive ten-day NET training for psychotherapists from the Jiyan Foundation for Human Rights and Yazda. To maintain this approach, ongoing support includes individual and group online supervision sessions. The agenda covered essential NET topics, including trauma and memory concepts, lifeline development, and narrative exposure techniques. Participants engaged in lectures, case analyses, and hands-on practice sessions to further enhance their trauma-informed care skills. To promote peace and coexistence among followers of different religions, the Dialogue Program team of Jiyan Foundation held an open discussion in Mosul for different communities of Muslims, Christians, Yezidis, and Shabaks. The participants had productive discussions, and everyone emphasized peace and mutual acceptance among different communities.
