Trump's proposed 20-point Gaza Peace Plan, with the declared aim of ending the 'war' in Gaza, has attracted criticism for prioritising Israeli interests and cynicism for its colonial overtones. Crucially, the plan does not propose Palestinian self-determination, instead opting for a widely-criticised plan for governance led by Jared Kushner and Tony Blair. ICJP cannot support a plan that disregards justice and entirely sidelines Palestinian autonomy in this way. #Trump #Gaza #Palestine #Israel

‼️ Global 195 Update The Global 195 coalition has filed a formal notice to Albanian police regarding a member of the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) suspected of participating in war crimes. We have reason to believe that this individual is currently present within Albanian jurisdiction, and that domestic police must urgently investigate and arrest the individual. The individual is believed to have served as a reserve soldier in the 55th Paratroopers Battalion. Photographic evidence shows the suspect was in Gaza wearing the 55th paratrooper battalion pin. Open-source investigation reveals that the 55th Paratroopers Brigade was operating in Khan Younis, Gaza from around December 2023 till February 2024. It is believed that the suspect was a member of the 98th Division in the 55th battalion. Footage also shows that the 98th Division destroyed the main Mekorot water lines in Al Sikka Street in Khan Younis. The complaint is based on over 130 eyewitness testimonies of war crimes perpetrated by Israel in Gaza. The coalition calls on Albanian police to arrest and detain the individual, pursuant to Albanian law and in compliance with Albania’s international obligations under the Rome Statute, and in accordance with Article 7(a) of the Criminal Code of Albania. Albania also acceded to the Genocide Convention in 1955 and must actively prosecute and punish acts of genocide under these international law obligations. Leader of the Liberal Democrats Ed Davey spoke at our Annual Palestine Reception cohosted with Liberal Democrats Friends of Palestine at the Liberal Democrats Conference last night, acknowledging the positivity of the UK Government’s recognition of Palestine but calling it a ‘small step’, and reaffirming his party’s commitment to pressurising the government to help end the genocide in Gaza. As LDFP Chair Anne-Marie Simpson said, the Palestinian people should never have had to fight for their right to be recognised in the first place. #FreePalestine #Palestine
