Hello! Our work was accepted to Findings of #EMNLP2025: Towards Low-Resource Alignment to Diverse Perspectives with Sparse Feedback. It is important to consider a diverse range of possible answers for subjective questions, but training models to effectively control the parameters of this diversity is often expensive in compute and data. We propose to improve alignment through interventions on model embeddings (via SAE model steering) and token probabilities (via Pluralistic Decoding), which is more data-efficient and compute-efficient compared to fine-tuning.
