Creating and refining guidelines and tools to generate and use Real-World Evidence for better decision-making in Europe.

About us

GREG - Testing, improving, and co-creating Guidance and Tools for Real World Evidence Generation and Use for Decision-Making in Europe. GREG is a public-private partnership supported by the Innovative Health Initiative Joint Undertaking (IHI JU), set to revolutionise Real-World Evidence (RWE) practices in Europe. The GREG initiative aims to create, test, and share practical, evidence-based guidance and tools to help generate and use RWE. By enhancing how RWE informs the development and evaluation of medicines, medical devices, and drug-device combinations, we will support better decision-making for regulators and Health Technology Assessment (HTA) bodies. Starting in May 2025, the GREG project will unfold over the next five years, bringing together 29 partner organisations from 15 countries. The GREG consortium is uniquely positioned to make a significant impact on European RWE practices. Led by Erasmus University Medical Center (The Netherlands) as the Coordinator, Novo Nordisk (Denmark) as the Project Lead, and Sanofi (France) as the Co-Lead, with support from the University of Oxford (United Kingdom), we are ready to make a difference. Curious to see how we are transforming healthcare? Follow us to stay updated and be part of the journey! #IHI_GREG

  • What an inspiring session today at #ESCCongress! The discussion on Real-World Evidence and the IHI GREG initiative truly highlighted how bridging regulatory science and data innovation can transform cardiovascular care. Key takeaways: 🔹 Real-world data is not just complementary to clinical trials — it’s essential for shaping smarter, faster, and more patient-centred decisions. 🔹 Collaboration between regulators, clinicians, and innovators is the only way to translate insights into impact. 🔹 Initiatives like GREG are paving the way for a future where evidence and innovation move hand-in-hand. A special thanks to our speakers Dr. Lars Wallentin and Prof. Tom Melvin, and to Prof. Alan Fraser for moderating the session. Your insights made this a truly impactful exchange and together we are building a stronger foundation for evidence-driven cardiology! #IHI_GREG #RWE #HTA #Healthcare #Innovation #Cardiology #ESCCongress

👩💻 Real-world #HealthData and evidence (RWD/RWE) have immense potential to advance the development and evaluation of medicines, medical devices, and drug-device combinations. Guidance on how this could work exists, but is high level, not evidence-based, and implementing it in practice is far from easy. 👋 Meet new project IHI GREG, which aims to to turn this situation around by generating guidance and tools to boost the impact of #RWE in Europe.
