📢 Clarifying Recent News on the HI-STORE Project 📢 We’d like to provide additional clarity regarding recent news about the HI-STORE project. The recent cancellation of the land purchase agreement was a mutual decision between Holtec and the Eddy-Lea Energy Alliance (ELEA). This decision allows both organizations to pursue new opportunities—enabling ELEA to consider other potential developments for the property, and allowing Holtec to engage with other communities and states that have interest in hosting a consolidated used fuel storage facility. Holtec continues to value our relationship with ELEA and our shared vision for safe, responsible used fuel storage. Should the Department of Energy issue an Expression of Interest (EOI) for used fuel storage, Holtec stands ready to support ELEA’s efforts to respond—should ELEA choose to do so. Holtec remains committed to safe, responsible, and innovative solutions for the long-term management of used nuclear fuel.

About us
Holtec International is a global turnkey supplier of equipment and services for the Nuclear, Solar, Geothermal, and Fossil Power Generation sectors of the energy and petrochemical industry. As a fully integrated supplier, Holtec possesses in-house capabilities to design, engineer, analyze, construct, license, and deploy the technologies offered by the company; this includes technologies to manage used nuclear fuel and waste discharged from nuclear reactors and wet and dry (air cooled) heat transfer equipment for commercial power plants. Holtec is also developing a Small Modular Reactor (SMR), which will provide for modular, distributed, carbon-free, base-load energy. Holtec International’s industrial activities are principally focused on six continents: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Australia. Britain, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, China, Ukraine, Canada, Mexico, the United States and Brazil are among the countries where Holtec International has provided significant goods and services. The domestic market in the United States, however, has been the catalyst for Holtec’s technical innovations in its fields of endeavor, which the company has successfully parlayed into business successes in overseas markets. Over 70% of Holtec’s output is consumed by the domestic power industry; the balance is destined for foreign markets. Holtec’s corporate moorings are firmly and deeply anchored in the power industry: Over 150 power generation stations in the U.S., including over 80 commercial nuclear power plants, have been Holtec customers over the past two decades. Holtec International has a long and excellent reputation for honesty and integrity in business dealings. This reputation is a priceless asset which must be safeguarded continually by all Holtec employees. To succeed, Holttec must have the trust and confidence of its customers, subcontractors, suppliers, fellow associates and the public. Maintaining an unwavering commitment to the highest standards of business ethics and conduct is crucial to Holtec’s future.

Behind every product we build is a team dedicated to learning, mastering, and innovating. 👏 This summer and fall, our Holtec Manufacturing Division in Pittsburgh took training to the next level with: 🔧 Miller ProHeat 35 Induction Heater Training – exploring the science of induction heating and applying it hands-on with expert guidance. 📏 Zeiss Quality Inspection Training – diving into the science and methodology behind operating the Zeiss T-SCAN hawk 2, next generation lightweight 3D laser scanner. Investing in our people means investing in the future of manufacturing. Every skill learned strengthens our commitment to quality, precision, and excellence. #HoltecInternational #ManufacturingLeaders #EmployeeGrowth #InnovationDriven #AGenerationAheadByDesign

SMR-300 Technical Highlight –Did you know the SMR-300 has extensive licensing engagement with both the U.S. and U.K. regulators? Holtec International has pursued a robust pre-application licensing strategy for the SMR-300, engaging with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (USNRC) since 2020. The licensing effort includes a comprehensive Regulatory Engagement Plan (REP), with over 150 formal and informational meetings to date. As of 2025, Holtec has submitted 50 white papers and 16 licensing topical reports, with additional submittals planned over the course of the year. This early engagement model is designed to ensure alignment with NRC expectations and minimize regulatory uncertainty ahead of Holtec’s planned Construction Permit Application (CPA) Part 1 submission in late 2025. The SMR-300 design integrates lessons learned from over five decades of nuclear power operations and reflects industry best practices from sources including EPRI and INPO. In parallel, Holtec is progressing through Step 2 of the U.K. Generic Design Assessment (GDA) process with the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR), the Environment Agency, and Natural Resources Wales. To date, the GDA process has included over 500 formal submissions and responses to more than 200 regulatory queries. Holtec anticipates successful completion of the GDA in March 2026, providing further regulatory assurance that the SMR-300 is licensable for deployment in the United Kingdom.
