  • A generation is rising for climate action. 💚🌍   Through the #GreenRising initiative, Generation Unlimited, UNICEF and partners are working to equip 100 million young people by 2030 with the skills, platforms and opportunities to power a just and inclusive green future.   In Rwanda, we mobilized over 2,000 young people in a tree planting initiative, turning climate ambition into real impact.   Governments and businesses must invest in renewable energy, uphold ambitious climate commitments and cut emissions.   Protecting the planet means protecting every child and young person, everywhere. #COP30

India is home to the world’s largest youth population — over 300 million young people aged 10–24. This group has immense social and economic potential, yet challenges like unemployment, limited access to skilling and other opportunities continue to hold back many in an AI-driven future. That is why Adobe and UNICEF’s Generation Unlimited are partnering to help close India’s youth skills gap in the creative and digital economy, with an aim to equip young people with in-demand, transferable skills and real-life experience for a rapidly evolving world. The shared-value partnership is piloting an initiative that integrates Adobe’s Digital Academy curricula into Generation Unlimited’s Passport to Earning program, providing free, certifiable and market-relevant training to young people across India. Its "Design Fundamentals with AI" course will introduce learners to digital design and generative AI through hands-on projects that lead to a professional certificate and portfolio. Together, we are empowering young people across India to gain the creative and digital skills they need to thrive and be #WorkLifeReady. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/eQCgNQBJ

  • Powering Africa’s Industrial Future: Skills for Innovation, Growth & Sustainability During Africa Skills Week 2025 in Addis Ababa, Generation Unlimited led three dynamic sessions at the African Union Headquarters, bringing together government, business, and youth voices to explore how young Africans can be equipped with the skills, networks, and opportunities needed to be #WorkLifeReady. Highlights included - Digital and Employability Skills through Passport to Earning (P2E) 💻 Showcasing how localized, AI-enabled learning pathways in Niger, Nigeria, and Rwanda are connecting youth to employment opportunities. From government leaders to private sector partners like Accenture, participants shared how young people are breaking barriers and moving from learning to earning at scale. Youth-led Agro-Innovation through EKYAN (Engaging Kenyan Youth in Agriculture and Nutrition) 🌾 Exploring how youth-led agro-innovation is redefining agriculture through digital tools, mentorship, and access to finance. Young agripreneurs from Kenya, Ethiopia, and Rwanda are helping to position agriculture as a driver of green growth and opportunity. Agriculture remains the backbone of Africa’s workforce, employing nearly 60% of the population and projected to generate 35 million new jobs globally by 2030 (WEF, 2025). Triple Gains of Youth via Yoma *Youth Agency Marketplace 🌐 In collaboration with the African Union and UNICEF, this session explored how the YOMA ecosystem is creating an integrated model for youth impact, where skills, social contribution, and livelihoods grow together. Inspiring stories included Hafiz Sani Galadima from Nigeria, who turned hardship into leadership as a YOMA ambassador leading environmental projects, and Esther Nyaguthii from Kenya, who gained career-building skills through Educate2Employ with SAP, Umuzi.org, and YOMA. The sessions collectively highlighted a central theme: Africa’s young people are ready to lead the continent’s industrial and green transformation. Scaling proven models such as P2E, EKYAN, and YOMA will require continued investment, innovation, and collaboration across public, private, and youth sectors.
