With an air of excitement, the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine recently marked the opening of a brand-new courtyard space with a tailgate event for students, alumni, staff, and friends. As the construction of two new facilities and a major renovation near completion, the SVM community came together to celebrate this important milestone as well as significant alumni achievements in the field. The Plant Sciences Building at North Carolina State University is the new home for a multidiscipline research program – the N.C. Plant Sciences Initiative – which brings together a wide range of scientists to solve the grand challenges of agriculture. Designed by Flad, a key feature of the building's advanced research capabilities is the 10,000 square feet of flexible rooftop greenhouse space.
