The 3 Seas Initiative Innovation Fund is officially launched 🤝 with initial contributions from national promotional institutions Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego 🇵🇱 and Národní rozvojová banka 🇨🇿. With a target size of €180 million and aiming to involve up to nine countries, the 3SI Innovation Fund will invest in #privateequity, #venturecapital, and private credit funds to support growth-stage companies. The ultimate goal is to mobilise €1 billion in new funding and drive business growth across Central and Eastern Europe #CEE 🌍 Learn more: bit.ly/eif-3SIIF The 3SI Innovation Fund is inspired by the EIF's 2017 Central Europe Fund of Funds (CEFoF) initiative, which boosted equity investments in SMEs and small mid-caps across five countries.

First results from our flagship EIF #VC Survey 2024 are in! 🆕 Check the top 20 slides here for current market sentiment and outlook based on responses from 398 GPs across Europe. Top challenges (still) relate to the exit environment #IPO, difficulties around #fundraising, and the availability of #scaleup financing. Slide 6 shows an evolution of these aspects in a 3-year comparison 💡 For investment areas, a large share of VC respondents' portfolio companies are active in #AI, #Deeptech, and #Cleantech; whilst promising sectors are expected to include #biotech, #energy and #climate related solutions. ⚙️ Our surveys are conducted with the support of Invest Europe #VCF24 and include #venturecapital and #privateequity fund managers - both backed and non-backed by the EIF. #BackToWork with a new dataviz on #securitisation in the CEE region 👉 The EIB Group has been an active player in the region with close to €6 billion of synthetic and €2 billion of true sale transactions since 2013. We have helped to develop a number of markets in the region, including Poland 🇵🇱, Romania 🇷🇴, Bulgaria 🇧🇬, the Baltic States or the Czech Republic 🇨🇿. Poland, where we started 20 years ago, remains the most advanced securitisation market in the region. Through the EIF's securitisation activities, we’re not only fostering risk-sharing but also driving the growth of Europe’s securitisation market 📈

Back from EU Sustainable Finance Days 2024 in #Warsaw organised by the European Commission 📸 The EIF Kamil Pruchnik, Ph.D. 🧙♂️ participated in the panel 'Transition Finance in practice' discussing how our #InvestEU🇪🇺 Sustainability Guarantee works: a tool designed to enhance access to finance for #SMEs, small mid-caps, natural persons and housing associations during their #greentransition and offered by our financial intermediaries. Also during the event, the EC, the European Investment Bank (EIB), Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego and the EBRD, as well as the Ministerstwo Funduszy i Polityki Regionalnej and the Ministerstwo Finansów, shared different efforts aimed at supporting the green transition in Poland and the EU. News from the EIF and the EIB Institute 📢: We will soon be kicking off our very first #EmpoweringEquity Academy with 30 students from 16 universities across Europe. Over the next months, our class of 2024 will gain a solid understanding of the investment world. The academy offers online workshops covering subjects such as: 🎓 VC, PE, private credit and infrastructure investments 🎓 Thematic focus areas such as sustainability, deep tech and life sciences 🎓 The EIF assessment and investment process incl. evaluation of proposal and teams. We also look forward to meeting our cohort in-person at our #UglyDuck24 event, and facilitating lots of networking opportunities. Composed of students with a #STEM background, and mostly of young #women, we hope this edition of the #academy will be inspirational for all participants... and tutors alike! 🙌
