As part of the #EU Macro-Financial Assistance (MFA) Program led by the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development & International Cooperation , ERRADA ’s role focuses on enhancing public consultations and fostering policy-making through dialogue and societal participation via the #HEWAR_platform. Egyptian Regulatory Reform and Development Activity (ERRADA), is a government initiative launched in 2008 to build a regulatory management system for business related regulations. ERRADA developed the required institutions, tools and processes to enable it to inventory and review existing business related regulations. ERRADA also aims to provide accessibility to these regulations to the public and enhance decision making in Egypt by introducing evidence-based tools (through RIA) into the policy making cycle.

Following the OECD - OCDE ’s outreach to ERRADA as part of their fact-finding mission to Egypt under the project “Promoting_Citizens’Centred Governance in Egypt,” implemented by the OECD and supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), we were pleased to welcome the OECD delegation today at ERRADA. This visit comes within the framework of the OECD’s Regulatory Reform Review for Egypt, which aims to deepen understanding of Egypt’s regulatory framework and governance practices. During the meeting, Dr. Heba Shahein (PhD LSE) , Executive Director of ERRADA – the Egyptian Regulatory Reform Development Agency activity , engaged in a constructive exchange with the OECD - OCDE @ team on ERRADA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen evidence-based regulatory management, promote transparency, and advance Egypt’s broader reform agenda. #ERRADA extends its appreciation to the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development & International Cooperation , and the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (#NIGSD) for their continuous support and collaboration.

ERRADA Participates in Launch of “Promoting Citizen-Centred Governance in Egypt” Project ERRADA, represented by its Executive Director Dr. Heba Shahein (PhD LSE) , proudly participated in the OECD Policy Dialogue held on May 11, 2025, marking the official launch of the “Promoting Citizen-Centred Governance in Egypt” project. This strategic initiative is implemented by the National Institute for Governance and Sustainable Development (NIGSD) in cooperation with the OECD and with the valued support of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), under the leadership of the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development & International Cooperation . The project represents a vital step forward in advancing regulatory reform and inclusive governance in Egypt, in line with Egypt’s Vision 2030. It focuses on strengthening justice institutions—particularly concerning the rights of women, children, and youth—while promoting youth engagement, environmental priorities, and citizen-responsive policies. ERRADA reaffirms its commitment to fostering a transparent, accountable, and inclusive regulatory environment that supports sustainable development and empowers every segment of society. I had the privilege of participating at “Egypt's Entrepreneurial Ecosystem: FinTech as a Growth Engine” Panel organized by the Amcham. It was a thought-provoking discussion centered on the intricate dynamics of regulatory reform of Fintech in Egypt and across the African continent. We are thrilled to share that two of ERRADA team members had the privilege of attending two transformative retreats, each paving the way for innovation and sustainability: 1. AI Retreat in Egypt (Nov 28–30, Matarma Ras Sudr) Hosted by Hive Analytics Academy in collaboration with JRNY, this retreat brought together graduates of the #AI_Copilot_Diploma and #AI_enthusiasts. It featured a rich agenda of workshops, including: Career building with AI Entrepreneurship and AI startup building Designing training courses using AI Data engineering and pipelines And much more! The retreat also integrated JRNY's unique well-being sessions, creating a holistic experience for personal and professional growth. 2.Green Connect Kick-Off Retreat (Dec 6–8, Soma Bay) Organized by JRNY in partnership with GIZ Egypt, Tetra Pak, Hivos, and TRACK3 Consulting, this retreat launched the #Green_Connect_Program to address #sustainability challenges in #energy, #agriculture, and #waste_management.
