Last week, our teams across Edgewater Automation and Edgewater Manufacturing delivered a full truckload of donated food to Redbud Area Ministries. This organization plays an important role in supporting individuals and families throughout the Buchanan, MI area, and we’re proud to support their mission. Over the past two months, employees from our MI facilities collected nonperishable items to help strengthen the resources available to our community. Efforts like this highlight the importance of coming together to meet local needs. Thank you to every staff member who donated food, helped organize the effort, or assisted with loading and delivery. Your involvement made this possible and reflects the strong community spirit across our teams. Today we’re proud to celebrate National Entrepreneurs Day by recognizing the person who set Edgewater Automation in motion: our Founder and CEO, Rick Blake. Rick started Edgewater almost 25 years ago. No large team, no big facility, just a belief that solving problems through creative automation could take him somewhere meaningful. That belief proved right. What started in a garage quickly moved into our first 10,000 sq ft space. As we earned the trust of new customers, our operations expanded, growing from one location to two, then three, and eventually four. Today, Edgewater Automation boasts over 400,000 sq ft of design and build space across Michigan and South Carolina, supported by teams who carry forward the same energy and curiosity that started it all. Rick’s story is a reminder of how far commitment, vision and grit can go, and it continues to shape who we are as a company. Progress in Spartanburg, South Carolina Our team is currently commissioning a new automation system at our Spartanburg, South Carolina facility before it ships to the customer. Designed for a molding application, this system assembles precision components used in a consumer goods product. The system integrates two FANUC America Corporation SR-3iA robots, along with a conveyor, linear motion control, and bowl feeding technology — all working together to deliver consistent, high-quality assembly performance.
