🚨 Children in Gaza are in crisis. Edesia has formed a global coalition to meet the immediate nutritional needs of more than 20,000 children under five in Gaza by providing over 15,000 cartons of life-saving therapeutic foods in the next 45 days. ✈️ Thanks to our partner Airlink, Inc., our first shipment is already en route from Newark to Tel Aviv, where IsraAID will help move it through customs to reach our programming partners Multifaith Alliance and Gaza Children’s Village. 🌍 Thanks to donors around the world, we’ve already raised over $600,000—but we can’t stop now. Thousands of children are still waiting. Just $50 can bring one child back from severe malnutrition. With your support, we can reach more children and save more lives. Donate today to help us end malnutrition! 📅 Join us Sept. 15 at 11:00 am EST for a virtual information session with our coalition partners to learn more about this urgent response. For months now, you’ve seen the headlines. Now here’s the one that changes everything: "Federal government restarts order for R.I.-based Edesia to ship food to children in Africa" This is the update we've been dreaming of writing. The U.S. State Department has issued its first tender, enough ready-to-use therapeutic food to reach 817,754 severely malnourished children. To every single person who supported us through this fight, a million times, thank you. Now let's get to work. We have babies to feed! https://lnkd.in/ekuqhAST

Famine isn’t sudden. It builds. It’s clear. And it can be stopped. In Gaza City, famine is already here. Half a million people are starving. Children are dying. In Sudan, the crisis is even bigger: 25 million people don’t have enough food, and over 600,000 are already in famine. Sudan is the largest famine in modern history. Gaza is the fastest. Both could have been prevented. At Edesia, we won’t wait for famine to be declared. Every day, we make foods like Plumpy’Nut and Nutributter—helping children recover and giving families a chance to survive. Every famine is a failure. But it doesn’t have to happen. Together, we can stop it. #ChildrenCantWait #EndMalnutrition #Edesia

After “patiently” waiting for 7 months, we got our first order from the State Department! We are excited to take on this challenge and feel the urgency to get boxes out of RI and into the hands of children around the world as soon as possible. #gohumanitygo

Relief on a child’s face is not just a picture, it is a milestone. Behind this moment are countless hours of effort, perseverance and determination to turn hunger into hope. At Ponka, a tech-outsourcer in Sierra Leone, we are proud to partner with Edesia Nutrition. Together, we believe dignity begins with the basics and every child deserves food. #SocialImpact #ZeroHunger #WorkWithDignity #PartnershipForChange #AfricaRising #SierraLeone #EmpoweringCommunities #BusinessForGood #ImpactWithPurpose #FutureOfWork

This is inspiring proof that when one sector falls short, the other two can step up. Society is facing many pitfalls due to rapid changes in the federal government, which is now appearing in our backyards. This isn’t just a DC issue. Collaborate, overcome, and continue the mission. "I'm pretty sure that most companies, like everybody else, like to do the right thing and every once in a while, they find themselves in a position where they can be of help," said Perlman. "All of our associates are very excited by the fact that we can help kids that are starving. Who wants to see kids hungry? We don't want to see our own children hungry. It doesn't matter if you live in Africa or Tennessee." Bravo to Ocean State Job Lot and Edesia Nutrition! #crosssectorcollaboration #getitdown #continuemission #federalgovernmentfunding #adapt #overcome #hunger #children #feedtheworld #rhodeisland #plumpynut

This is what “last mile delivery” looks like. From our warehouse in Ghana to the Central African Republic At Edesia, we’re always finding new ways to adapt. New partners. New risks. New solutions. Whatever it takes to get Plumpy’Nut into the hands of those who need it most—because children can’t wait. Roadblocks, delays, detours, paperwork—nothing will stop us. Not now. Not ever. #GoHumanityGo! #EndMalnutrition #Edesia

URGENT: GETTING LIFE-SAVING NOURISHMENT TO CHILDREN IN GAZA The New Coalition for Gaza is getting life-saving therapeutic food — specifically Plumpy’Nut and its sister product Nutributter — into the mouths of starving babies and children in Gaza. Plumpy’Nut is a peanut butter–based paste used worldwide to treat severe acute malnutrition. For a child on the edge of starvation, it can mean the difference between life and death. What I love about this is how a coalition of partners from the US, Israel, and Gaza came together to cut through the Gordian knot of logistical barriers, active conflict, shifting political realities, and dangerous delivery routes. Here’s how they’re making it happen: 1) Edesia Nutrition, an incredible US-based organization, has a large warehouse in Rhode Island filled with Plumpy’Nut that has been largely unused since USAID was dissolved. 2) Airlink, a global humanitarian organization, is airlifting the shipments for free, with more to come by sea. 3) IsraAID, a great, trusted global relief NGO, is moving the shipments from Tel Aviv airport to the Gaza border. 4) The Multifaith Alliance and The Children’s Village Gaza are taking the hand-off from IsraAID ensuring this food reaches the most vulnerable children and families in Gaza. The cost is $50 per child and the first shipment aims to feed 15,000 children (the coalition aims to raise $750,000 immediately). Here's a breakdown of the costs: $540,000 for product $65,000 for ocean transport $145,000 for final delivery to families The New Coalition for Gaza is an example of how a vision can become reality through collaboration. I've already made my donation. You are welcome to do so too. Ed Shapiro, Larry Tobin, Navyn Salem, Yotam Polizer, Shadi M. -- thanks to you and others for your vision and leadership.
