【Technology is for People】Cyberport CEO shares Cyberport’s plan on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Dr Rocky Cheng, CEO of Cyberport, recently sat down with IT PRO Magazine to share about Cyberport’s plan on Artificial Intelligence (AI) development. He outlined how Cyberport is expanding its AI ecosystem, supporting start-ups and integrating technology into the community. As AI continues to drive global technological advancements, Cyberport places AI at the core of its development strategy. Cyberport is committed to building a thriving AI ecosystem and launching various innovative AI initiatives. These includes the establishment of AI Supercomputing Centre (AISC), expansion of Cyberport's AI ecosystem, the establishment of the AI Lab and the launch of the Generative AI Sandbox with the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, and more. 【Hong Kong Park of Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Co-operation Zone】Cyberport Welcomes the HKSARG’s Promulgation of the Development Outline for Hong Kong Park of the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Co-operation Zone, Contributing to the GBA Development of an International I&T Hub The Outline proposes four major directions for the development of the Hong Kong Park. This will help to link Shenzhen and Hong Kong to enhance favourable positioning and resources for innovation and entrepreneurship, deepen the synergistic development of I&T industries in both places, expand the interconnected ecosystem of "research, academic, industry and application," and provide fertile ground for high-level cooperation in collaborative technological research and cross-border applications. Cyberport continues to expand its ties with Shenzhen's I&T industry and ecosystem. 【SME Digital Technology Solution Day】Cyberport Collaborated with HKMA and Banking Sector in Promoting Digital Transformation for SMEs To promote digital transformation for SMEs, Cyberport recently collaborated with Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Hong Kong Association of Banks, and the Chinese Banking Association of Hong Kong to jointly organise the “SME Digital Technology Solution Day” at Cyberport Campus. Over 100 participants from SMEs in the F&B and Retail industries, professionals from the banking industry and solution providers participated in the event, making it lively and bustling. Ir Eric Chan, Chief Public Mission Officer of Cyberport, delivered a welcome speech in the event. Following this, banking professionals and solution providers participated in two panel discussions, offering insights into the challenges SMEs face in digital transformation and how to leverage big data to support their upgrades and transformation. One of the panels, moderated by Ms Alice So, Head of Entrepreneurship of Cyberport, focused on the flexible application of digital technology and the support available from partner banks. Mr Alfred Wong, Programme Manager of Entrepreneurship of Cyberport, introduced the “Digital Transformation Support Pilot Programme” (DTSPP), highlighting the benefits and advantages offered to SMEs. 【AWE EU 2024】 Cyberport Community Showcases Cutting-Edge Digital Entertainment Applications Beyond the City Cyberport, as Hong Kong's flagship for digital technology, is committed to promoting the development of the local and international digital entertainment industry. Earlier, Cyberport participated in a five-day delegation tour in Vienna, Austria organised by the Hong Kong Digital Entertainment Association and sponsored by Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA). Together with seven Cyberport community companies, it showcased the latest achievements in the I&T application of digital entertainment in areas such as gaming, education and training, ArtTech, and business at the Hong Kong Pavilion of Augmented World Expo Europe (AWE EU 2024) . AWE EU 2024 is an annual international event in the extended reality (XR) industry, attracting over 2,000 visitors this year, including representatives from European creative enterprises, designers, XR developers, industry experts, and investors. Through the Hong Kong Pavilion, Cyberport community facilitated industry cooperation with global creative technology, promoted more cross-border collaboration opportunities, and allowed visitors to experience firsthand the innovation and strength of Hong Kong's digital entertainment industry.
